Here is my overall impression of a quick overnight stay at this hotel....it is exceptionally CLEAN. All surfaces in our room, especially the bathroom were spotless. The bed had soft sheets, the mattress and pillows were very very comfortable. Rave reviews again for the cleaning staff-they are ON POINT! The only reason I don't give it five stars are the smells that waft through the halls from people cooking in their rooms. I wish Candlewood used a signature scent air freshening system in the hallways. The overwhelming smell of other peoples food isn't appealing. Quick update-we spent one more night here in our return trip and wanted to add that there were a couple things I noticed on this trip that gave me pause. This time, people arguing out front, congregating and smoking at the entrance and a broken beer bottle on the lobby floor.

The bar is on the left as soon as you enter the building, review the list of wines they offer, you can do a flight or by glass. This is a hotel I was unfamiliar with so I didn't know what to expect, but my Wife and I were…read morereally happy with our stay. The motif is based on a cabin-ish style and that's something I always enjoy. The lobby is pretty big and open and the hotel appears to be geared towards large groups such as a wedding, or business get-together as there are several meeting rooms. The hotel does have an indoor/outdoor pool and several, spacious sitting areas. There is a bar located on sight and they serve a free breakfast in the morning. We didn't eat here, but I saw they had eggs, potatoes, and sausage. They also had the usual items like bagels. The room is very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The room had a microwave and a decent sized fridge. It also has a Keurig which I know may be considered pretty standard nowadays. I forgot soap, but was glad to see that there was a bottle of Bath and Body Works body wash that had a eucalyptus scent. When I was checking in, I inadvertently prevented check-in from being as smooth as possible, but the young lady working the desk (Sydney) was very friendly, patient, and understanding. Lastly, I felt as though the room was very nicely priced as I've stayed in far worse for more money. The only issue we had is that the sheet on the bed made no attempt at staying on, but I didn't even notice until my Wife pointed it out I don't know how often I'll get the chance to stay at this chain since there aren't any close to me, but I'd stay here again without hesitation.

Their website makes it look amazing and a steal of a deal but I've stayed in Best Westerns that seemed cleaner. The pool was down for a little bit while we were there (maintenance so it wasn't their fault). Our room was clean at first glance but had some dirty sports. Weird stain on the wall inside the door, some short little hairs in the shower. Very convenient and worth a stay if in town for business or pleasure. Hotel staff was very kind.

The Warrior Hotel, Autograph Collection in Sioux City has easily become one of my favorite hotel…read morestays. From the moment I walked into my room, I loved the modern yet royal feel of the décor. The room felt luxurious, stylish, and comfortable, but the bathroom really stole the show! The bathroom is huge and features a beautiful walk-in glass shower which is always a favorite of mine along with a bright vanity mirror and a built-in TV. What more could a girl ask for? Well... how about a heated toilet seat that also rinses your bottom?! This was my first time experiencing one, and I'm not ashamed to say it completely changed my hotel standards. Once you experience a warm toilet seat with a built-in rinse, there may be no going back! Downstairs, there's also a restaurant and bar that perfectly complements the upscale décor and atmosphere of the hotel. There's a pool on-site as well. The gym is a little on the small side, but with everything else this hotel offers, I can easily overlook that. Overall, The Warrior delivers comfort, luxury, personality, and an unforgettable bathroom experience. I'd absolutely stay here again!

We've stayed at the warrior many times over the past number of years. I'm from Sioux City and…read morechoose to stay here because it should be the premier property in the area. The history and architecture of the property is beyond comparison to anything else. But the stay experience falls short after that. The problem with this property is the management. The entire staff is friendly and appears to want to provide you with good service but they've never been trained on how to do their job. From housekeeping, to service at the bar and restaurant, to simple upkeep of linens and the general property, this property should be a five star but it's a two star at best. Stay at any of the other travel hotels. You'll be much more satisfied. You'll get what you expect. This is a property in the Marriott Signature line that does not live up to what you expect from this brand. We will not return to this hotel. We have shared our frustration many time with the management over the years.

The stay itself is not the reason for this review. My concern is with the customer service I…read moreexperienced when calling the hotel to arrange payment for one of our employees who was staying for an entire week. I called from our engineering firm's office number and, when the front desk answered, I simply introduced myself and stated the company I was calling from. Before I could even explain the reason for my call, the employee hung up on me, apparently assuming I was a robocaller. When I immediately tried calling back, I discovered that our office number had been blocked or marked as a robocall number. I then had to use my personal cell phone to call the hotel just to get through and explain that I was calling on behalf of a legitimate business to PAY for our employee's week-long stay. What was most frustrating was that this entire situation could have been avoided by simply taking a few seconds to listen before making an assumption and disconnecting the call. As a company arranging and paying for employee travel, we expect to be able to contact a hotel without having our business number blocked before we're even given the opportunity to explain why we're calling. Again, this is not a complaint about the stay itself. It is about the way a legitimate customer and business call was handled by the front desk. A little more patience and professionalism would have made a significant difference.
