Couch - separates when you sit down due to the tile/age

We rented # 202-11 in the Truman Annex (Shipyard Condos) for the week. I am writing this review at 2 am because the bed is so hard that I can't sleep. My husband actually prefers sleeping on the circa 1980 sectional as it is MORE comfy which is saying a lot (it separates in the middle while your on it). While I understand the Realty company rents the place for the owners who probably don't want to furnish a rental with top quality furniture, this place falls below that to say the least. Although it's fairly clean (there are ant traps around and I've seen a few ants), the furnishings are DEFINITELY old and uncomfortable including bed, couch, sheets, towels, and other linens. I would have expected the real estate company to have minimum standards - isn't that the point of not renting off Craig's list ?!? Ask about mattress quality before committing to a rental :(.

Ripped furniture in the living room

I have been coming Troy Key West for 20 years and many times have used Compass Realty for rentals in Truman Annex. We have always been happy until this time. We rented a unit in HarborPlace at the last minute for a week and paid a good deal more than other units in Truman Annex because that was all that they had left. The building has many rules and dealing with keys to enter the building, keys for the unit and a pool key all with very high rates to replace them if lost of $100 to $200 is ridiculous. The unit itself has ripped furniture, blinds that don't cover the bedroom window and a bathroom that needs cleaning and repairs. When we asked to get a different unit they were not very accommodating, they said they were all sold out. I asked to change the next day when I knew they had availability from checking their website but they kept saying nothing was available. The girl in the office offered to check with the broker and call us back, we received a message that there was nothing available and they had already given us a discount so they wouldn't do anything for us. I really understand if there are no options but the way we're were treated with such indifference is what made me realize that Compass Realty does not care about their guests. When I asked to get someone to repair the blind in the bedroom window because 2 slats were missing I was told maybe tomorrow, I ended up finding some painters tape and repairing it myself with a pane still missing. The cost of over $4000 for the week is high for Truman Annex and this unit is not worth the money!

Nice recliner that doesn't retract.

Don't waste your money. The pictures on the website make the place look great, but it's not worth $3000 a week. The furniture is old and starting to get run down or broken. Look at my photos from December 2013 and don't waste your money.

They expect us to cook on this!

Pretty rude staff overall. They were not very kind or understanding during covid either. Use another company!

Maya is the exception, trust me. My wife and I were looking for something below 100K ( which is pretty hard to find anywhere in the keys) and Maya spent the WHOLE day with us looking at property. You can do the math for yourself on what her commission is on something lower than 100K. That didn't matter to Maya. She treated us like we were buying a 1 million dollar property. If I could put 0 stars... I would…read more Aggressive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable management. We stayed here during Fantasy Fest, paying over $10,000 for what was supposed to be a premium property -- instead, it turned into a nightmare. There was major construction directly across the street that we were never informed about, waking us up every morning at 7 AM and blocking our entrance with work vehicles. Their excessive power use caused multiple electrical outages, forcing us to relocate our staff for an entire day. We reached out to Alina, our assigned representative, multiple times and never received a single call back -- there was zero communication the entire stay. Then on checkout morning, exactly at 10:00 AM, Alena, the property manager, stormed into the home unannounced, banging on every door like she was the police, yelling for us to get up, and threatening to call law enforcement. She was extremely aggressive and confrontational, giving major attitude while we were still half-asleep after working 18-hour days all week. Moments later, she brought in her manager Joyce, who escalated the situation even further -- yelling, pointing her fingers in our faces, refusing to let us close the door, and repeatedly threatening that she "knows the PD" and would make sure we go to jail. This was harassment, intimidation, and a complete violation of our privacy and safety. For the amount we paid, the lack of professionalism, communication, and respect was appalling. We will be filing a formal report with Airbnb and strongly urge anyone considering this property to stay far away until the management is replaced.
