I recently boarded my Golden Retriever at Wags and Whiskers in Sidney, Ohio, for a three-day…read moreweekend. While I understand that dogs get dirty when they play outside, I was extremely disappointed with the condition my dog was in when I picked her up. My dog has long hair, and although I was told she had been playing in the mud, she appeared to have been left sitting in that condition for an extended period of time. She was completely covered in dried mud, had mats throughout her coat, and was scratching so much that she developed scabs. It took me over two hours to clean her when I got home. The mud was so deeply worked into her fur and skin that clumps of hair came out while I was bathing her. She also smelled strongly of manure. In addition, my dog came home with a bloody nose. I was told she had been playing in gravel, but she has never experienced anything like that before, so I am still unsure what happened. My biggest concern is that I expected my dog to be returned in roughly the same condition she arrived in. Instead, she came home dirty, matted, uncomfortable, and with an unexplained injury. Unfortunately, this was not the level of care I was expecting, and I left feeling very disappointed

The woman said that she had laid new gravel and thought that may be the reason. My dog continued to limp so I took him to the vet. He had been shot in the leg with a BB gun and developed a bone infection and i was told that it needed amputated. I had to end up putting him down. I should have sued her but i didn't. Im a firm believer that you shall reap what you sow. I miss him and I know that I'll never take another dog there and highly recommend that no one else should. It's a shame that anyone would allow that to take place. Idk who did it but one day they'll have it come back to them in one way.
