Yes, I remember the great time I had on the soccer team as the goalie and the times where we played basketball during P.E. And YES, I remember the times when I won our class spelling competition and received a 99% overall grade in all my classes. But I also remember the times when I was made fun of by other students for being fat and the teacher not even saying anything. I also remember the first time I was punched in the face by someone else (in my class) and nobody did anything, either. And yes....I remember the time I was called to the principal's office for not picking up another student's piece of trash (a soda can), despite them blaming it on me and the substitute teacher believing them that I was the original owner. Still, I can reflect on my time there with slight admiration, as it was the first of my multiple transitions from home-school to public school.
