Beer hunter is just off the bike trail, which makes for a handy libations stop. Big specialty drink menu, with plenty of specials at this full service bar. The owner was behind the bar in our visit. He was friendly in that Wisconsin Tavern sort of way. The bar is big and clean, as are the bathrooms. The decor is what you'd expect... tavern kitsch which is just fine and will provide plenty of photo opportunities and discussion points. Theres also an outside area, which were told is mostly used as an outdoor event space.

The bar is spacious and clean, appointed in the classic Wisconsin style, and I happened to go at happy hour, when domestic beers will set you back the sum of two bucks! It is a total locals bar- the kind of place where they bring their own coozies and they do not even have to order, as their preferred beverage is known. A wandering stranger such as myself is likely to be treated with a certain benign neglect by the regulars, which is perfectly fine, especially because the irrepressibly charming bartender Jess is simply a force of nature. In fact, not ten seconds elapsed after gently nudging my empty toward the bar edge before a fresh cold one was placed before me with a smile and a kind word- and the place was packed!
