We took a return trip on the Plymouth to Roscoff route for our holiday in Brittany. It was very convenient for us living in Devon and avoided alot of motorway miles. Both journeys were onboard the fairly new Armorique ship which is a magnificent vessel. I cannot fault any aspect of Brittany ferries staff, facilities etc. It certainly is a class above other cross channel services I have used with good quality food, comfortable accomodation and plenty of things to do. The children's entertainment and activities laid on kept our young daughters occupied for a good portion of the 5 and a half hour trip. Whilst we had a very smooth and comfortable outward crossing, the one negative is that the return crossing was choppy to say the least. Our kids, like many, were very seasick and when it's 5 and a half hours that makes for a long journey. Apparantly this is not an unusual thing for this particular route which practically skims the Atlantic ocean. Of course, this is not the fault of Brittany ferries, but just be aware that this is perhaps not the best choice of route for thoses without decent sea legs. But if you travel well by sea it is totally recommended. read more
