Due to the hotel receiving a large contract for a huge block of rooms that was possibly going to have its workers there for over a year, we were unable to get the rooms we wanted, which would be connecting. Lorena and Carlo went above and beyond to work with us so that we could be accommodated. They were able to work their magic so that we could be moved to the connecting rooms on the 2nd day of our 4 night stay. They went above and beyond to ensure our happiness, checking with us on a regular basis to make sure we were happy. I have stayed in some 5 star hotels and have never received the attention to service that they provided. Attention to service and detail by these 2 employees made our stay extremely pleasant. They are a true treasure and I hope the hotel management recognizes what they have in Lorena and Carlo. read more

I have traveled and purposely selected this hotel location for many years. With new management/ownership in the last three months, here is the warning...don't come! The hot breakfast is unsanitary and not anything as it has been for years. Meats - They are serving left over greasy sausages from the prior day or days. They serve greasy sausages every day. There is no other selection of meats daily. Prior years, each day was a variety of meats daily. Even if you were a vegetarian, there were healthy options. Juice - Okay forget that selection, its really watered down apple juice, orange, and mango juice. Just bypass getting juice. Fruits - It's rotten bananas and guess what the person who represented herself as part of management said, "nothing was wrong with rotten bananas." She sees as ripe bananas. These are leftover rotten bananas. Room - Horrible mattress! No daily room service. No one has vacuumed my room ever! i have been here for several days now. Manager/owner - Really don't know! She had the most nastiest attitude ever simply because I was trying to provide an honest opinion of the hot breakfast. She walked over with an attitude. I am reporting this establishment to the health department. Guess what, just maybe I am a spy guest working for the Federal Government evaluating locations receiving from many complaints. Pictures will be uploaded soon! read more

They KEEP charging us even after we left. In total for one night we've been charged almost 500 dollars. We'll be taking this to court. We stayed here Wednesday the 21st, and it is now Monday the 26th and charges are still coming out of my bank account. See y'all in court!! read more

Just sleep in your car... * a week before arriving they had no record of our reservation even though I had a fully executed contract * once arrived they had a 5 hour wait time AFTER check in time before rooms were "ready" * rooms had dirt in bathtub, pink bacteria on shower curtain, tub wouldn't drain well, toilet didn't flush well, brown liquid dripping from bathroom fan, etc * front desk offered towels to clean up dripping ceiling ourselves * not enough towels or wash clothes because they said housekeeping didn't wash any the day before...was offered one wash cloth, 2 bath towels and a pool towel for a family of 4 to use * requested to move rooms, but other room still dirty * multiple members of our party had reoccurring headaches due to black mold problems on ceilings * still planning to stay there? Good luck! read more

When I got to the room it had an extremely bad odor. I received some air freshener from the front desk which did not help. Plus, the bedding was dirty along with the floor and other items. read more

The worst place I've ever stayed at and will never stay again. We left for the airport at about 4 am, and shortly after my dad realized he left his $200 boots in the room so my mom immediately called the front desk describing what they looked like and they said they would talk to housekeeping because they hadn't been by to clean our room yet. We went back by the hotel and was told that they questioned the housekeepers and they "threw them away". Another thing, the room was absolutely disgusting. We needed the pullout couch for one of our guest but the bed was so gross, our guest slept on top of the couch. When we first pulled the couch out to make it, we found rose petals and a toboggan. So obviously it hadn't been cleaned. Do not recommend this place AT ALL! read more

Had an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. I booked three rooms for my husband and myself and 2 more for family members. The first room I was given had a horrid looking brown stain in the bathtub so I asked to be moved, I was told it was just a rust spot, but I was moved. I also asked what room had the beautiful glass enclosed shower that I saw online...they moved me to a suite (which had the shower), but the bathroom floor had puddles of water and the bedroom carpet was not vacuumed. When the gentleman from the front desk checked on me to see if I was OK I told him (I was willing to overlook the bedroom carpet), I told him about the bathroom floor and asked if it could be cleaned, I didn't know if it was a leak or what. A couple of housekeepers were in the hallway and heard my telling my husband that the floor was really wet. They came in to check it out and said (The name of one of the housekeepers) had not cleaned the floor. One said she was going to go get her or come back and clean it herself. After about 20 minutes the original cleaner of the room came up with a little attitude and asked what the problem was. I showed her the puddles on the floor and so she said something about the tub jets had been left turned up and so when she was cleaning the tub, water squirted all over the floor. She still didn't say why she didn't clean it up in the first place, but grabbed a towel and mopped up the puddles. One of the other rooms that my sisters were in had a leaky toilet and so they had water all over their bathroom floor. There was no one on duty other than the front desk person so he came down and mopped it up and put towels around the toilet until morning. We only stayed one night because we were flying home the next morning, but it would've only been one night even if we were going to stay there for a week. read more

The staff was friendly. The breakfast was great! The lobby was spotless. The outside really needed some attention such as grass cut, shrubs trimmed, trash swept from the curb. My room was nice, bed was comfy. Toilet had some sort of leak that kept that area near the bathtub damp. read more

I stayed there in march, 2023, and left an unfavorable review based on the condition of the room and problems with television and Wi-Fi . Now I have found that I have bed bugs ! I have not stayed anywhere else since then except in my own house, which by the way is quite clean. I didn't find out about the bed bugs until today, because I had been working outside until a week ago and thought I was just getting lots of mosquito bites . When I call the management, they hung up on me , because they said too much time had passed. I wouldn't stay here again under any circumstances read more

I booked a 2 night stay for my uncles funeral. Choice Hotel messed up my reservation completely! Yes the front desk straightened everything out. Front desk is not my complaints! The room is my complaint..I was bitten by bed bugs..they were horrible! The shower curtain looked like an oil worker stayed there and during his/shower splashed black oil all over the shower curtain.. there was NO WAY housekeeping missed that! The carpet looked like a bunch of kids or Very high traffic was in that room..the carpet was AWEFUL! The carpet need to be clean!! The throw at the foot of the bed looked like someone dropped food on it, and again housekeeping just made the bed up! My towels were so dingy..doesn't look like the wash cloth were cleaned at all with any cleaning solution or bleach! Thank God I brought my own wash towels! The pillow cases, sheets looked the same way..Dingy!! Very bad room experience across the board! read more

Had to make an unexpected trip from Houston to Nashville recently, and and even more unexpected delay when the vehicle I was traveling in decided to break down in Memphis on the way home. Stranded in Memphis, and at the mercy of the car service, I was sent to stay at this hotel at their expense. I've stayed with Comfort Suites before and it's quite decent for its price. The people at the front desk were very nice. They got me in a room very quickly despite it being nearly 1:00 am. The room was very clean, although the hotel and appliances are very outdated and could use some touch ups. I struggled trying to figure out how to turn the shower on for a decent amount of time, but the front desk was able to help me out. Additionally, they provided a toothbrush and toothpaste since I hadn't packed mine in the intention of being back in Houston by morning. I got a great night's sleep. The hotel was quiet. And in the morning, there was a very simply but good breakfast served. I'm always a fan of hotel's biscuits and gravy. Overall, very nice stay. I would definitely recommend staying here if you, say, ever get stranded in Memphis. read more

Just keep driving and find another place. The list can go on and on regarding the state of this hotel. Carpets are nasty, hallways stink, furniture ( chair at desk in room) the arm fell half way off and needs replaced or repaired, bedding is dingy, overall dirty rooms. We bought water from the market place area of hotel and the cooler was not working properly as the waters were hot. Mentioned it to the attendant on duty, she said to just get some ice. Price is overpriced for the quality of this establishment. The best thing about this hotel was leaving. read more

Honestly did not know what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable this hotel was. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The (FREE) breakfast was delicious and HOT and the room was very comfortable. Very happy to have stumbled across this last minute gem. read more

I've stayed in several hotels in the Southaven area and thought I'd give this one a try based on the website pictures and reviews. After a 3 night stay, I won't choose this hotel again. Front desk staff doesn't offer the level of hospitality I'm accustomed to. One person in particular doesn't seem very engaged with customers. Staff in the dining area could use a little TLC as well. Every time we entered the hotel, the smell of Pine-Sol engulfed the air. The elevator floor looked disgusting. To top things off, out toilet was clogged and we could not get assistance from staff. The front desk actually told us to to come and get a plunger! What kind of service is that?! I've called customer relations and don't have a resolve yet. read more

I give it five stars. The rooms are huge enough. You get free breakfast! The employees are kind & professional. The bathrooms are very clean along with everything else. It's down the street from a mall & tons of restaurants. (You gotta stay here.) read more

Note to self: don't stay here again. The WiFi doesn't work and the tv doesn't have the channels printed on their own guide. The room was clean, bed was comfy and shower was nice. But if you're gonna say you have free WiFi, make sure it works. And if you're gonna print a list of the channels in your TVs, make sure you can get them. read more

Weirdest hotel experience ever. We drive up and they are obviously doing renovations but it looks almost abandoned. Get inside and wait about 5 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. She's super nice and tells us that we will be on the third floor because they are renovating the 4th. So we go up to the third floor, walk out of the elevator and it looks like a war zone. Go to our room and the key doesn't work so we have to go downstairs to get it changed. The lady assures us that everything is ok and they are just doing work but at this point we haven't seen a single other person staying there. But she tells us they are completely booked... Anyway we finally get in the room and it was actually pretty good. All in all, everything turned out ok but we were not expecting this at all because it had 4/5 stars and it wasn't cheap. Not terrible but pick somewhere else. read more

1. The rooms are suites so obviously they are like a small apartment. 2. When entering our room it actually smelled of fresh linens and clean cotton ( never does this happen, it's usually musty) 3. The beds are extremely comfortable and I fell asleep and slept through the entire night, which also means it's very quiet. 4. The main reason I'm giving this hotel 5 stars? That breakfast! Oh. My. I have yet to stay in a hotel, and keep in mind I travel at least once a month, that has a continental breakfast that tastes as good as this one. They have it set up buffet style and it has a variety of options. It has a cereal section with 3 or 4 different kinds, a pastry section with 5 rows of pastries, biscuits and sausage gravy, eggs, juices, and two types of waffles that you can make on your own. There is also a fridge full of butter, cream cheese, boiled eggs, and yogurt. It was all scrumptious and was included in our stay. Great job comfort suites! read more

The fire alarm detector started to beep shortly after arrival , my husband called the Reservation desk for maintenance but was told their no one to assist by changing battery. My husband knowing our children couldn't sleep with the beeping all night offered to put in the battery himself with the help of our 15 year old Autistic son whom is 6"3 and who was especially bothered by the sound. Also the sink was slow draining and the toilet didn't work properly. Even with that the most bothersome probably was the fact we checked in because of Hurricane Ida. The website said they accepted animals. Our child has an emotional support animal a well behaved 15 lb Schnauzer which we brought along only to be asked to leave the next morning because a maintenance man noticed my husband carrying the dog after we dropped our kids off at school, my husband tried to explain to the man it was an emotional support animal for our son and daughter with ADHD but the maintenance kept saying" it's a dog", and then reported us to front desk who knew we checked in with dog to begin with and suddenly we needed to leave. read more

After a horrible day of travel due to airline issues, we finally arrive close to midnight at the Comfort Suites, walk into the lobby and I smile ear to ear as I see a "Guest of the Day" display board with MY NAME on it. I was then greeted by the nicest employee by the name of Christy Ann, who was so helpful and sweet. She made us feel welcome and to not have any concerns about our room, as she directed us where we could find some late night dinner. We were pleasantly surprise with the size, cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. The morning breakfast with hot and cold foods, was very good. The only reason I don't give this place a 5+, is that we reported our heater didn't work, as our room was too cold, but we managed and also reported the closet door had a broken frame, but no one ever came to look at these two minor issues. We'd definitely stay here again, as it's right next to many shopping stores and places to eat. Great value for the price. KUDOS to Christy Ann on the night shift.....a sweetheart of a person and so helpful. I definitely stay here again! read more

I chose this hotel over the many others in this general vicinity due to the positive ratings. We checked in around 1245 in the afternoon. The first thing we encountered was an extremely unpleasant front desk clerk. The hallway on the 3rd floor looked like it had not been vacuumed. Then we entered the room to find it had a mildew odor which immediately started my daughters asthma to exacerbate. The sofa had 2 large brown stains, the bathroom mirror had toothpaste splatters all over the trim, the headboard had a white substance on it (I don't even want to think about what that was). Luckily we were only in the room to sleep and the bed was ok. We did not stay long enough to have breakfast the following morning so I cannot say what that was like. I will not be staying here again. read more

Hotel was nice and fresh. Bed was extra comfortable! The breakfast was kinda below standards. Biscuits were dry, bacon was all torn into small pieces, scrambled eggs were watery. I was ok with the other breakfast items. Needs to be more attentive bc of the dryness! The lady working the breakfast was extremely helpful! read more

This was my first time staying at this hotel. It smells like the carpet has not been cleaned in years. I also had ants in my room. So nasty. The house keepers were unprofessional. Beating on doors and talking about the guest out loud. read more

They called the police on my friend who was a guest and they arrested her right in her own room because she allegedly disturbed the peace. I mean really. ... Who even does that? This hotel was clean, front desk staff were all friendly, the person in the breakfast area was very helpful when we needed something or had a question. The breakfast was great, make your own waffles. There was bacon, sausage and eggs and lots of other cold items. Hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The area is full of restaurants, shopping malls, movie theater and even car dealerships! Right off the highway, so made it very easy when going places. read more

Ok hotel. Assigned us the wrong room initially, which was already occupied by another customer. Location is close to Graceland and near many restaurants/stores. Good, quiet room, although shower made a crazy loud rumbling sound if using hot water. Breakfast was pretty horrible - watered down OJ, rock-hard biscuits. At least they had waffles, though. read more

An error made in the booking process was compounded by a lack of employee responsiveness and an unwillingness to work with the client. The staff did not send a confirmation email to confirm the reservation. When calling to try and resolve the issue, the front desk staff became openly hostile and argumentative. Subsequent phone calls to file a complaint yielded in additional staff members OPENLY LYING about the status of the employee. Management refused to address the issue. Attempts to have the issue resolved with Choice Hotels were met only with the excuses and apologies that their hands were tied and unless hotel management wanted to resolve the issue, nothing could be done. I WILL NEVER USE THIS HOTEL OR CHOICE HOTELS AGAIN. The staff was uncooperative, argumentative, and rude. I don't care how nice the hotel may be, customer service is key and in this regard, they have failed. read more
