I've been going to comfort nails for about a year now. I go back every 2-3 weeks for bio gel refill from the same nail technician (Jaiema). She's amazing! She's a perfectionist and she really takes her time with what she does. I leave happy with my nails all the time. It saddens me to rate this place 3/5, not because of the nail technician but the owner or manager, Lisa. She is usually the one that cashes you out at the end. She is SO unprofessional, rude and does not know what quality customer service entails. They have this loyalty stamp card in which you receive stamps every time you get service done. She had forgotten to stamp my card the last time I visited. So my following visit (2 weeks later) I got the same exact service with the same technician I go to who knows me.. I go to pay and I Informed her about the stamp she had forgotten to give me ... she looked at me like I had three heads and goes huh? And goes well do you have a receipt? In which I didn't. The nail technician even jumped in to say hey ya she was here.. Lisa continued to ignore the fact and turned her back on me... To be honest.. I value customer service and if she is the manager or owner she should know how to treat customers. And that's their "loyalty card" and to someone who's a regular customer and she clearly doesn't try to understand the customers or ensure they leave satisfied.. that should say something. This is my go to nail salon for sure, they have the awesome massage chairs (turn off the tapping and just program to kneading, i promise you, you'll love it), clean & reasonable price. I have frequented this nail salon at least 4 times and my last visit will be my last. After the pedicure I had left me with an infection in my toes. At the time of the of the pedicure everything was fine but the next day my toes were literally burning and after spending the night in the emergency room I am definitely unimpressed. I will mention that I normally get a manicure and this was the first time getting a pedicure and that I haven't had any issues with the manicures. read more

Great spot when I can't go to my regular in Scarborough - fast service but honestly the price is way too high for the service. They do it well enough but not amazing to me. I felt they could be more thorough/almost rougher to really get down and get my nails a bit more natural looking, I usually have to encourage my tech. I find I really hate that bulby gel look, I find it so tacky so I'm constantly seeking techs that know what I'd prefer. Otherwise they have great selection, colours, the store is beautiful and well-kept and so comforting, no pun :) The green branding just makes the space pop. Great sub for me if I'm in the area. I should've known not to get eyebrow wax services at a nail salon, but I did, so that makes me the fool. The lady doing my eyebrows dropped a full dollop of wax on my eyelash and struggled to remove it with eye-burning solution...it smelled like nail polish remover. Good god. I could've lost an eye or damaged my eye sight under her hands but I didn't so I guess I'll give them 3 stars. But damn, it was scary. The lady apologized profusely but now the area that the wax got dropped on - I have a rash there for the rest of my life. It's been a few months since I had it done there and it is still red and patchy. Do not come here for eyebrow wax. Just get your nails did and GTFO. read more

I went here seeing the good reviews and it being in the neighbourhood I was conveniently in. It was a much-nicer-looking-than-typical, spacious nail bar, so my immediate first impression was good. = + 1 star I asked for a pedicure and was taken right away even though they seemed quite full on my first glance. = +1 star The pedicure itself was the most uninterested, minimal-effort, go-through-the-motions pedicure I've had in recent memory. The pedicurist asked me a series of questions about whether I wanted additional services (no, just the pedicure thanks!) and then proceeded to do the absolute bare minimum. She didn't even trim my cuticles. I am pleased to have pretty nice feet, cuticles included, but this is a basic part of a basic pedicure, no? (yes.). My pedicure lasted a total of ten minutes before I was waiting for my polish to dry. I won't return. read more

This is by far the worst place I have ever had my nails done in the city, and I get them done every two weeks. I had shellac done, the manicure changed from purple to a terrible green because they used the incorrect top coat (which they admitted to). They said the change was complimentary when I walked in since it was their mistake, and then proceeded to have my pay as I was leaving the salon. The receptionist was beyond rude - she insisted because they removed the color to fix it I had to pay - but there was no other option for fixing it so I'm not sure how that makes any sense? Also, from day one it was bubbling and peeling. I'm not convinced the tools used were at all either. Go anywhere else in the city - it's not like this place is any cheaper. read more

The salon is very clean, but the service is lacking. I walked in on a weekday at 5:30pm, and was told I could have an appointment at 6:30. No problem, I live close by. I returned at 6:25... and was finally seated at 7:10. I would have expected that wait time if I was a walk in, but seeing as I had an appointment, it was irritating. The girl working on my nails did an alright job, she nicked my cuticles a couple of times but it wasn't a big deal. However, once she finished cleaning and filing my nails, she started on the nail polish right away! No hand lotion, no massage, no base coat. I reminded her what she missed and she apologized... and then started on the base coat. I reminded her again about the lotion and the massage and she sighed and said she'd do it after. After when? After my nail polish dries and you've already started on a new customer? After you paint my nails? Skeptically, I said as much... and was shocked to see her roll her eyes and sigh again. I also chose a colour that required 3 coats (I know, the nerve of me!), and she acted like this was the biggest inconvenience of her nail painting career. I wish I didn't tip her, but I felt guilty. Dropped in unexpectedly when I found myself in the area with extra time. Called ahead and they said I could walk over. After waiting about 10 minutes (which I didn't mind since I just walked in) I was kindly directed to a great selection of polishes and the pedicure chair. From the chair, I can see that the salon is clean and tidy as well as the autoclave station. The lady who did my pedicure (my bad for not catching her name), was polite and thorough. They do a great job and are all so sweet. The salon is very clean with lots of colours and variety of services provided. They also have a loyalty program which is also nice. Consistent with a few previous reviews- I've been going to comfort for the last 6 months atleast for a shellac manicure. When I first started coming here I got great technicians who did a great job- charged the same price (as listed) the last few months it seemed every time I got I was given a new person and they just got worse and worse and on top of that- I was charged a different price depending on who did my nails! Some charge 5.00 for removal- some don't. ( the techs give you a slip to bring to the counter so they decide how much to charge you) TBH- the actual mani job is as good as any of these salons are- but it's the inconsistency in quality and pricing that throws me off.. read more

Currently getting a pedicure with Vien and she is so thorough! The spa itself is pretty big with lots of seats! I'm not too sure how the other workers are with their clients but I appreciate Vien working within my timeframe (on my lunch hour lol) and still providing quality service. I've also gotten a shellac here before and I do remember it being good however should have included a slight cuticle clean up and not just the polish. Had a shellac mani/regular pedi done. Have had the same elsewhere and while the tech paid attention to detail here, there wasn't as much done in both services as I'm used to getting (i.e. Foot scrub, nail soak). Nails came out great but when I went to pay, I wanted to go withdraw cash for a tip (and even asked the lady at the cash where a nearby bank was) and left $2 in the meantime. The lady at the cash rudely looked at the money, called out to the lady that did my nails and said some bad things about me (loudly and in front of customers). I was so mortified that I didn't return with the rest of the tip. Note to the staff there: you've lost a customer (as well as the rest of your tip) and I will never recommend you to anyone due to your extreme rudeness. There are plenty more nail salons in Toronto and hopefully, they'll be more worthy of my time. read more

I went for a full set biogel. I didn't have an appointment but the staff was very accommodating in fitting me in. This should have been a sign for me to walk away but I stayed because I figured how bad can it be. As more people walked in, the technicians worked faster, often cutting corners so that they can take the next client. Needless to say my nails look ok, nothing great, and my experience left me unimpressed and not valued as a client. It was my first visit and it was their opportunity to wow me and offer me a discount as they advertise. I live in the downtown area and I understand that costs are a little higher than most other places. I don't mind paying for it, but please value my business and not treat me like another person on the assembly line. Judging from what I wrote, I probably will not be returning as a client. read more

You're best to make an appointment and also managed your expectation that this is a family run Asian nail salon..which means they don't like to turn away service. Worst service ever with Asian lady in glasses. Really bad at doing nails. I asked her to be more gentle and began yelling. I have been in esthetics for a very long time and this is the first time I have encountered such disgusting attitude from a nail tech. I asked for someone else and she got very irritated. I then asked to have it removed because I do not feel comfortable completing my service. I was then charged $15 for the removal. While it was being removed she was being extremely ruff. I would not recommend anyone coming to this salon. The level of customer service is not up to par for an industry such as esthetics. This nail place is alright most of the time. The modern decor is certainly attractive and they offer a loyalty card to be stamped at each visit. My first time going there was right after it opened. It was early in the morning so I was the only customer No one offered to turn on some background music or the television so it felt a little uncomfortable. My nails looked great though so I returned. I came here after having a TERRIBLE experience at High Park Nails & Spa. I called prior to walking to inquire for the price and the lady was very patient and helpful on the phone. No rushing me whatsoever. I walked in and they seated me right away and advised me on what High Park did to my nails. They were straight up and told me High Park didn't even use real acrylics on my nails BUT what impressed me was they never shit-talked their competitors. Not once did I hear "yeah don't go there" or "yeah they do a bad job". Not only was my lady so incredibly pleasant - she was thorough and did an amazing job on my nails. The place is amazingly clean and well decorated. The technicians are very organized with their work space as well (just something I noticed). At the end, the staff even advised me to pay in cash so I wouldn't get taxed so much using my visa. I told them I only had $45 in cash (given I got acrylic removal, new acrylic sets, and a manicure - it wasn't enough) and they were kind enough to tell me I should pay $45 and the rest on my visa to help me save! I was enticed to come in because of the $15 shellac price listed on their website and then again on a sign outside their store, but it ended up being $30. The price was fine as that's pretty average for shellac, but it didn't last at all! The manicure lifted and peeled off within less than a week of getting it! I booked Comfort Nails for 11 girls to all get manis & pedis right before a friends wedding and they were incredibly accommodating and helpful. They made sure that all 11 of us were ahead of any walk-in customers, they were recommending best colors to match what we were looking for and did some great nail art for those who wanted. They were really sweet and made us a little snack table - provided ice teas, fruit, cookies and muffins and insisted on giving myself and the bride-to-be each a nice OPI bottle of cream. This used to be my regular spot. i loved Ema who did my nails.. still to this day BEST nail Tech ever. What i couldn't stand was the management they became so money hungry and screwed me over soon many times. every month they would be putting tacky signs up saying prices increased for small things... extra $5 for this.. $2 for that.... it was beyond ridiculous !!!. I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years and they gave me stamp cards which obviously sometimes i didn't always have on me and one day when i gathered them all ( cards from that same month) and brought them in ....a new rule seemed to be made right there on the spot.. that they couldn't combine my loyalty stamps!! .... because that would mean that they would of owe me $30 off my service. This really was the last straw for me that day being that the front desk girl always asks my name when i walk in and acts like she doesn't remember me after 3 years !!!!! I also complained once about my nails when i had to do a different tech because the bimbo at the front over booked Ema and they made me pay for a new set.. its just beyond disgusting. the brother and sister or GF/BF whatever they are running the ship rip you off and don't care about quality. Once when bimbo @ the front was the only one able to do my nails i asked for a refill and she slipped one layer of gel over top of my nails , then put shellac and charged me $65!!!! This place is a rinse and they 10000000% underpay their workers, i feel bad for Ema as she is from cuba and doesn't know any better . I am actively looking in trying to find a place in my company for Ema as she will NOT be slaves to these asians. read more

I've been going to comfort nails for over a year, and in the past I've always had a good experience with this salon. Over the past few months, I'm finding they are charging for things that they never did in the past. On my last visit I got shellac, and I had a few broken nails and had asked the women if she could cut the rest of my nails so that they would all be the same length. She told me that they would charge me $5 to do that (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?) Any other nail salon would cut them without any charge, and they never used to charge me for that in the past. I didn't want to have uneven nails, so I asked the women to give me the clippers so I could cut the long ones so my manicure wasn't uneven. She passed me the clippers and didn't even say anything. On top of that she forgot to put the rubbing alcohol on my nails when I finished, so when I put my coat on I had fluffs stuck all over it, and had to walk back to the salon to fix it (didn't even get an apology from them). I come to this salon ALL the time and have referred so many customers in the past. Next time if you have a few broken nails and you need a manicure, cut your nails before coming to this salon if you don't want to pay an extra $5. read more
