We checked in on Saturday after a grueling day of international travel with two children. There was hardly a welcome, no help with the bags, and the small dusty rooms faced a busy parking lot. Since there is no air conditioning, the doors remained open to the busy parking lot all night. Our children were not allowed in the pool at any time; you must be 16 years old. The outside beach area was littered with broken glass and cigarettes from the prior evening. To be moved to a water facing room, we were upcharged and one of the two new rooms wasn't ready until 4pm. Probably best as a lunch spot before or after touring Kronburg...I would never sleep at this hotel again.

It is right by the water and with the Helsingør castle view, beautifully done renovation, classical French style but in a Nordic clean and minimalistic way. The food has been wonderful, even the smørrebrød lunch I got was so good, yes even the pickled fish tasted good. Wonderful atmosphere, service minded staff and one of the best locations in Denmark. I am thinking that this must be a top wedding venue choice. I would love to go back for a weekend stay.

During this time, we stayed in two different hotel rooms and in one of Duxiana's apartments. Both the hotel rooms and the apartment were very clean and comfortable. The lobby is comfortable, cozy, clean, and warmly decorated with images and stories from the staff. Every staff member we interacted with -- front desk, cleaning people, etc. -- was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and hospitable. The breakfast was pretty standard fare for Sweden -- cold cuts, cheese, various breads, and a great deal more. As an American, I was pleased to find a tub of scrambled eggs that were a bit on the wet side, but no less appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Duxiana for a short- or a long-term stay in Helsingborg. It is centrally located within walking distance of all that the Helsingborg city center has to offer, and is right around the corner from the central train station.

Queen size bed, one towel per two. Hot at night no ac. We had the window open - people talking until 4 am outside window. First floor. Consider booking a larger room - it works but I wouldn't do it again. Breakfast is excellent. I am used to Scandic which i great but this is better.
