It's a short walk from the Tiradentes plaza and the food was quite tasty. They have several options at the buffet, from feijoada to salads to grilled chicken. Several bubbling cauldrons of stews insure that the food is quite hot. They also have a bar of typical dessert sauces (doce de leite, cocada, bananada, goiabada, and figos).
There is also a free barrel of cachaça for sampling and an extensive wine list if you prefer. It was R$45 for the lunch buffet without drinks.
The building is under the pousada casa dos contos, with nice table settings and decent service. I imagine a lot of tour groups go through here, as its big enough accommodate large groups and their menu on the website is in a dozen languages.
