I am writing to formally express my grave concerns regarding the conduct of several staff members at [Columbia Hights Elementary]. There are documented instances of teachers and staff engaging in intimidating behavior toward students, creating an environment of fear rather than learning. Furthermore, the school psychologist (Shelley Wong-Kamikawa) consistently attributes all educational challenges to a child's disability, which is a factually incorrect and harmful approach that neglects their individual potential. My interactions with the administration, specifically Principal Mrs. Hoskins, have been deeply disappointing. She has displayed a dismissive and unprofessional attitude toward both students and parents. It appears that instead of implementing meaningful support, the staff prioritizes the easiest 'exit' for the school rather than the well-being of the child. I cannot recommend this institution until there is a significant shift in leadership and a renewed commitment to basic respect and inclusive education. read more
