When I was in high school I used to come here always. I didn't know the difference between bad quality and good quality acrylics until I moved to Minnesota. Being back in town, I can't always go to my preferred salon due to my new job. I genuinely don't like coming to colorful nails bc they're so rude and don't do the best job. I have to come here due to my professionalisms at my job. The price should be even cheaper for how fast they work and how thick the nails turn out. The shape never turns out right. Atmosphere is ok. Nail color selection is decent. Would recommend to little kids who don't know what good nails are. read more

Walked in without an appointment and they were able to fit me in. They were quite quick, though I feel they didn't paint my finger nails full. The massage chair for the pedicure sucks, can hardly feel it. read more

Two years ago I got a fungus on my big toe at Colorful Nails. The used a grinder on my feet and he was talking and burned my foot. I went back today and did not want the grinder and so they did nothing and my heals feel like sandpaper. I asked for a design on my toes and it is total uneven and looks really bad. I love Colorful Nails, and I go their regularly. I have never had a bad experience. My nails always turn out lovely. The pedicures are AMAZING (go for the deluxe, it is totally worth it!) What I love most about the place is how careful they are about cleanliness. That is really important to me. I have really bad allergies to certain products and latex. The technicians are always careful to accommodate my needs. Contrary to what a previous reviewer wrote, Colorful Nails is not the only nail salon in town. There are many others, but this is the only one I prefer. read more

Worst manacure. They do not take their time because they simply don't have to. This is the only nail salon in town. Expensive too. Not worth it if you can go somewhere else I recommend you do. Gel colors are limited and they don't know how to apply top coat. Polish never lasts more than a few days. read more

Let's see. We called ahead to make an appointment for 3 pedicures. We get their and have to wait. That's fine. Then we pick our color. They ask for me to go back and leave my other 2 companions. I asked them if they had 3 chairs ready for us and by each other. Don't think they understood anything I said. Got into my chair and the water was ice cold. Sat their in cold water for 20 min before someone came over. Took her all of 10 min to do the whole pedicure. The girl next to me was still getting her toes painted and I was done before her and she had been in that chair a while. She did well at painting my toes and was very nice. But everything else was horrible. Would not recommend this place. read more

Awful! Both times I've been they did a very poor job on me and my friends. While I was in there another girl came in needing her nails redone because they had messed hers up as well. The pedicure was really rough and just about bruised my legs. I got French tips and they were lopsided and messy, and they turned my cuticles into a total mess. I had a gift card so I came back and decided on just a manicure this last time. I had to have the guy completely redo the paint because he did such a messy job, and the second job wasn't much better. He also (once again) totally chewed up my cuticles and was just picking indiscriminately at them while looking off in the distance and made them bleed. They looked fine before he touched them, and now they're a mess and they hurt. I tried to point out everything he was messing up but after awhile I just gave up and decided that this was as good as it was going to get. I haven't been to the nail place at Walmart in Pierre, but it's got to be better than this place. Honestly, I could have done the nails myself and had them look way better. read more

There was one good nail tech here, and she recently left. I went in for a gel manicure the other day, and it was horrible. Rather than letting my old polish soak off, the tech started grinding it of after about 30 seconds of soaking. She sawed back and forth on my nails, which I would think every nail tech knows is terribly damaging. And when she got some polish on my skin, I had to stop her from using the Dremel to remove it, rather than a bit of acetone. To top it off, my nails were ragged and the polish was sloppy when she was done. I wish there were better options in this town, but I will have to start getting my nails done when I'm in Sioux Falls or Rapid City. I'm done with this place. read more
