The 16th street bus is a great free option to get through downtown from as far up as where Union…read moreStation is to down to Broadway near the parks & monuments around the state capital area. 16th street itself isn't too much to brag about, a few restaurants and stores. But if you're staying anywhere near 15th to 17th street itself a quick walk over to grab a free ride. The bus covers about a mile and a half on 16th street and sees to come about every 5 to 10 minutes, it stops at every cross street along 16th street. It came in handy when I took the train from the airport down to Union station instead of walking a mile down to Tremont I just walked the next street over and took this for free. Side note with this being in downtown you may encounter some "unhoused" folks in the area so be aware of that.

The buses were clean, and we never had to wait more than 1-2 min for a bus to stop. It's a very well staffed line with lots of buses. The only downside is that the drivers will not talk to you. On one of our rides, a person was passed out in the back. They looked like they could use a welfare check, and it didn't look like they were just sleeping. We tried to tell the bus driver so they could make sure they didn't need medical attention, but he wouldn't speak to us and waived us off.

Driver told us exactly where pick up was in front of the Isle hotel lobby (we even saw another bus picking up there as we were getting dropped off). Fast forward to 11:10pm, we head back to the pick up location for the 11:25 bus...no show... the valet guy said it was probably canceled, but shouldn't we have received some sort of communication about that?! So we decide to not make a big deal of it, grab some food and wait for the 12:25am bus...we show up at 12:15, and wait and wait as we watch 2 ramblin buses stop, one of the Ramblin drivers even said that the Ace bus was coming right behind. Well we FINALLY see the Ace bus at 12:40am, and instead of heading right at the light towards the Isle, they take a quick left and disappear. We head in to the lobby where the staff tells us that if they turned left that means they were full and won't pick up anymore. WOW okay cool so instead of having the curtesy of letting your customers know that it's full, you just drive the other way to avoid us and keep us waiting in freezing cold temperatures. NOT TO MENTION MY HUSBAND AND I HAD A BABYSITTER WAITING FOR US AS HOME. We ended up getting lucky with a lyft, paid a fortune, and got home at 2am, almost 2 hours later than we told our sitter. We're just fortunate we didn't get stranded in Black Hawk before the winter storm. You bet I will 100% continue to try to get a hold of this company (oh yeah I tried calling at least 50 times, no answer obviously) and get every single penny of my money back. AVOID THIS BUS AT ALL COSTS AND GO TO RAMBLIN.

And with that being said, this is the 15 bus. Usually, I try to catch this bus when I'm already downtown. It's pretty quiet then. But once the bus gets to Colfax and Broadway, forget about it being quiet. Everybody and their baby and their baby daddy is on this bus. And from that point on, you're riding the 15 bus, wondering who's hand is on your rear and who's dry humping your leg (usually the same person, but not always the case). Lots of hoodlums on this bus (the aforementioned N-word users), probably because this bus passes by East High School. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the Denver schools because they're actually pretty swell. But you know how high school students can be. Colfax is an interesting place to ride by and watch. Since it's such a long street, the bus can take you all up and down it, and back again. So I'll ignore the fact that I'm usually standing when I get on this bus and end up talking to some weirdo. You ain't a true Denverite (or at least a true bus rider) until you ride the 15. Drunks and hoodrats and babies and dancers and rapppers and crackheads and oddballs, oh my. The list goes on. This is the 15 bus, and I love it.

You can see everyone and anyone on this bus. Tip: Catch the 15L if you can, it's faster. Best to catch it BEFORE the Broadway stop (if you're leaving from downtown) if you want to get a seat. The 10 and 12 offer alternatives to/from downtown (especially if you're in the Capitol Hill area) but don't come close to the awesomeness that one can experience on the good ol' 15.
