Forewarning: I was a bystander, so I didn't participate in the actual 5K.
I have been to two other "color runs" in the past few years. Honestly, I didn't know these types of 5Ks were still in existence as they were created many years ago.
That being said, it seemed like a lot of fun watching the participants and getting to hand out sunnies and color packs.
Would I pay to go to this 5K after watching the participants go thru the race and the after party? Probably not, but it definitely seemed like a lot of fun from the smiles and joy coming from the participants.
Usually when 5Ks are over, there is some sort of food to eat. It would've been nice for the runners/joggers/walkers to have something to munch on other than sugary drinks but at least they had that option.
My biggest concern was that the grassy area for the pre workout and post run party was not accessible at all and there were several strollers and wheelchairs that I saw struggling to get through the muddy grass. Make sure it's accessible for everyone and this event would be good to go.
Nice job, Color Vibe! read more
