Order in the court. Fun and educational.
If you want history that doesn't sit behind glass but jumps to life, Order in the Court at Colonial Williamsburg is the show to see. I went on August 26 at 2:00 pm and ended up sitting up front as one of the judges -- talk about immersion!
In just half an hour, we moved through three actual colonial cases, with guests roped in as defendants (in the most entertaining way). The interpreters were top-notch: lines memorized, energy high, and they kept the whole courtroom flowing like real proceedings.
Colonial Williamsburg always delivers, but this felt special. It wasn't just actors playing roles -- it was a real lesson in how law and community went hand-in-hand in the 1700s. And honestly? It was just plain fun. Highly recommend adding this to your visit schedule. read more
