This is where it's at! There's really no other place in town (probably even in the main plaza) that's open til 3am on Fri/Sat/Sun.
In these winding roads in the hills & mountains of Puerto Rico, where sidewalks are non-existant, and the chickens and lizards roam free, you don't expect somewhere that has:
- a big screen
- 2 auxilliary TVS
- a back room with video gambling
- delicious fritters / snacks
- ice cold Heineken for 2.25
- mixed drinks for 4 bucks
- ample seating
- a friendly crowd that literally has EVERY PUERTO RICAN stereotype in it.
- we even get a few girls in, now and then.
It's awesome.
The food is good, but expect a LONG waiting time. best thing to do is sit at the bar, order a drink and your food...have four more drinks, eat your food...go to bed, because once you're done there, there's no where else to go.
I recommend the papa asada de pollo, tostones are delicious. If you can get an empanadilla, they're good too, but you gotta go earlier in the day.
I had the papa asada de bacon recently...not so good, since sour cream isn't really big here, it was just salty...
Avoid the hamburger, gross!
It still gets five stars though, based on convenience, friendly staff, cheap drinks, clean place, and man, it's like 4 houses down from me hehehe. read more
