Very nice nursery! This was my first time here. It's not very big but they have a good selection of everything. Plants all looked good and seemed healthy. I wound up getting veggies for my garden. A couple weeks later everything is looking really good and growing really well. Fingers crossed for lots of vegetables! I couldn't resist buying a hibiscus that was flowering and looked so pretty. It needed to be transplanted to a bigger pot but I don't see one there that looked big enough so I bought one at Home Depot instead. It is also doing really well. We looked at the rose bushes but they didn't have the size and color I wanted so decided to go elsewhere for that. Overall it was a good experience and I would come here again. read more

I would not have had the skill, or imagination, to assemble them so I found the price acceptable. They really are breathtaking. I have wanted to check this place out for years but never made time. Today I made a u-turn to come and check out their selection. I was blown away by their reasonable pricing and variety of plants. I was able to pick up six plants and two saucers for under $50! That's crazy! They also have an amazing sale selection on home decor, large and small planters, and outdoor decor. They have a great selection of plants and a few trees. Customer service is always great. They are more expensive than the big box stores, but I don't have much luck with healthy plants from the big box stores. Where here, so far they have all been healthy and flourished. read more

My wife and her mom have been coming here for years. But I have never made a visit until we were in this neck of the woods and my wife wanted pansies. It was convenient timing for them offering a sale a few days before Christmas. Because my wife bought a WHOLE lot more than that. Their garland was very reasonable and they had a lot of other great greenery. The garland price was a lot different than some other nurseries we have been to in town. But what stood out to me most, is there was always someone around to help whenever we had a question. And not in an annoying way. Just present, inside or outside, if we wanted to see what was on sale, how long something would last or simple care instructions. I will definitely encourage our nursery trips to add Colliers to the rotation. Fantastic experience and deserve nothing less that five stars from me. read more

I saw someone said that the staff is unpleasant. That's far from the truth! I drive at least 20 min to go to this particular nursery because the staff is sooooo attentive and knowledgeable! In fact...I purchased a fig plant from them over a year ago and it died. Mainly because I'm a neophyte plant lady and I didn't take care of it properly. When I visited Collier's Nursery some weeks back, this kind lady told me how to revive my fig and it worked! I did what she said and now it's like a phoenix rising from its dirt ashes (I wish I had a before to show you guys...I was totally bare). She also gave me some great recommendations on plants that are not too high maintenance & they are thriving and growing! Thanks you guys! read more

Collier's Nursery is a local treasure for home gardeners in our area! Year after year, they've provided me with quality plant material including annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees -- you name it. Their staff can't be beat anywhere! Each time I go to Collier's, I'm greeted warmly by Monica or Martha or other staffers. They act like they're glad I've stopped by, and they're always eager to help when I need it. When I am looking for advice or inspiration, they are there to give it. When I want to meander and look on my on, they understand and give me the space I want. Yesterday their newsy monthly email arrived, filled with its usual promotions and garden information. But this time, they extended a new offer -- an opportunity to shop "via social distancing," adding "We want to make creating a beautiful outdoor space easy, convenient and safe." This was just the inspiration I needed to boost my spirits in the midst of the day's uncertainty and rising anxiety. My window box near the front door was in desperate need of a makeover, and Collier's offered me the opportunity! Their newsletter invited me to send them, by email or phone, my inspiration, preference of color scheme, size of planting, light conditions, and photo of the area. I emailed them with a full description of my window box conditions along with a previous year's photo. Monica took my emailed details, and then called me to report that my order was ready for pickup or delivery! I paid over the phone with my credit card, then drove over to Collier's where they loaded my car at curbside. Collier's gave me incentive to get outside and create a lovely (though small) space for us and our neighbors to enjoy. Gardening, at such a time as this, may seem petty or unnecessary to some. But for me, it's just the right thing to express hope for the future. Let's all support our local businesses -- they are among our community's treasures! read more

If you're local to the Vestavia/Hoover/Cahaba Heights area, and a member of the "green thumb " club- you know about Collier's Nursery. They have a stupendous selection of both annual and perennial flowers, as well as plants and shrubs- including the unusual and hard to find. I've never found their stock to be anything but healthy and hearty. The thing that really puts Collier's in the "top drawer" category, however is their staff. They REALLY know their stuff! You definitely don't get a job here just because you can run a cash register. Not only are they saturated with knowledge, and skilled in customer service- but they ALL seem to have that 'translation" skill , as in the ability to not only listen to and interpret your landscape vision- but actually improve on it, as well. Collier's is family owned and operated- you suspect that right away, as it's pretty apparent that they directly tie your satisfaction to their success. They also carry a wide variety of pots and containers- so you can swing by and let them help you select a lovely "living" and lasting present for your friend who just had a baby, or that elusive end of the year gift for your child's' teacher. read more

I'm starting to make an organic garden. I've been reading a few books and decided to try my hands and growing two herbs (we've been growing herbs for a while, but hydroponically). Today I went there and "Wynn" who was there helped me out, answered all my questions and now I have some pretty rosemary and parsley sitting in the window. Great place to go! read more

Love this nursery! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Lots of lovely plants from which to choose. I had a problem with a purchase in November 2017 and they were very kind and went over and above to make good on the purchase. They are closed after the first of the year for vacation, so call to make sure they are open. read more

I have to add that the rose bush I bought never bloomed and the bloom burst was a waste of money. The only really good thing was the cacti piece she gave me for free it grew like a tree. read more
