Your flowers will be done with love and care, to your specifications, and when you pick them up they will be PERFECT, more beautiful than you had imagined. They always have a good range of flowers in, and can do something beautiful in any season. Hand-tied bouquets are a speciality. My friends and family always comment on these flowers - both because of how lovely they are, and how long they last! Whilst all my visits to Fleur De Lis have been fleeting in nature, usually consisting of a quick…read morestop to pick up a small bouquet or flowerpot arrangement for a friend, I've always been impressed with what's on offer. Today was just as short a visit with a festive gift in mind for paying my boyfriend's parents a visit. A cute mini Christmas tree decorated in a small festive sack (adorned with a pine cone and artificial orange!) caught my eye and was a steal at just £5. From my experience so far, staff are friendly. I've always had an idea of what I wanted and left satisfied without needing any assistance. Although, I'm sure the staff are helpful if you're at a loss of any floral ideas for your occasion and I've no doubt they make great custom bouquets as everything ready-made is brilliant, especially the quirky mini plant pot arrangements. I'm sure I'll be back but next time I'd love to stick around for longer and have a proper browse. Bring cash since they don't have a card machine. (Worry not, there's an ATM across the road!)

The…read moreshop moved units quite some time ago and I've only recently had a proper browse since then. - It was my friend's birthday and I knew that a visit to Made in Stirling was a foolproof one; it would be impossible for me to leave empty-handed. And laying eyes on something that I wanted to buy for myself? That would be inevitable! With a selection of work from local artists and designers, Made in Stirling is a pleasure to browse. It's also really nice that it's the artists and designers featured who regularly work in the shop. When I visited there was a lovely lady who made lampshades with beautiful paper silhouette designs of Stirling. Whenever you pop in, if you're in the mood for talking, you're going to hear something interesting. But don't worry if you're not, staff will leave you to browse as you fancy. I'm one of those people who likes to buy lots of little gifts for friends as opposed to one large one. And I really could buy all my little gifts here. There's handmade soap, jewellery, silk scarves, paintings, candles; basically the perfect combination! (I'm seriously in love with the little Harris Tweed purses. I bought my friend one and had to show serious restraint not to buy one for myself! - They're gorgeous!) You get that super special feeling you get only when you're supporting someone creative locally whose doing their thing, with the added bonus that you're buying an awesome hand-crafted item that isn't available on the high street. A place I'd like to spend more time…read more What I initially thought would be an overpriced charity shop, selling trivial odds and ends, surprised me in the best of ways. The little time I spent there I was able to find some wonderful, and charming pieces of furniture and decor. Having been looking for a larger mirror for my flat for a while I was blown away when I found a large gilded framed mirror which has the Disney's Snow White, magic mirror feel. And best if all it did not cost me a fortune. In fact everything is well priced and charming. I really would like to come back here soon to have a bit more time to look around. Lastly and also very importantly the staff are so approachable and kind natured. They seem genuinely happy to be doing what they are doing and some of them voluntarily. The china section is definitely worth a browse if you love vintage style tea cup sets and staff are always friendly. You most definitely can get yourself a bargain! My new brown brogue timberland shoes (£10!) are testament to that! Happy thrifting!
