The prices seemed pretty reasonable for the area, so we also stocked up on a handful of Tim Tams for our friends and family back home. We also came back multiple times to pick up other necessities for the family. The Cole's Supermarkets seemed to be well spread over the various cities we visited, which made it very convenient for us to pick up healthy snacks and drinks along the way. We will definitely be back the next time we are visiting Australia.

After a morning constitutional in the ocean, I was walking around the Hilton precinct and was lured by the Merlo Coffee sign for Stairwell Coffee (anywhere serving this Brisbane coffee brand is generally a good bet). This little hole in the wall served me the best coffee I had all day (well, it was 7.30 am ). They also have a small selection of fresh veggies and meats, homewares, plenty of spices sauces and seasonings and a lot of frozen foods. Customer service is usually pretty good and they even smile sometimes like the name suggests :P. Also there is a customer rewards deal that will give you a small discount which is nice. A handy place to get a few items the big stores don't stock. Generally recommended.

There deli isn't too fantastic but it definately does the trick. The Staff all seem to be generally nice and give good service. Recently the store has turned all of the express checkouts into self service ones. I like this as i used to be a checkout chick and know how to scan my groceries but there are some people that should not be allowed to scan there own goods. Sometimes they do seem a little under staffed but overall its a good place to go pick up a few items or do your entire grocery shop!
