It might not look anything special but The Crown is clean and comfortable and the staff and regulars are friendly. There isn't a particularly impressive selection of drinks on offer but those that they do serve are reasonably priced. In the winter there's a pool table where you can thrash your friends for fun and money and in the summer there's a lovely beer garden that overlooks the River Severn and the quarry making it a lovely place to chill out with friends over a few drinks. I'd recommend it more for summer drinking but even in the winter, you could find far worse places that The Crown to enjoy a drink or two.

The food was of very high standards and was one of the best meals out I've had in a long time. Well done to all staff working the evening of 15th Sept 2015, a big thumbs up xx PS to the people moaning, you obviously dine in Michelin starred restaurants or are very picky!!!!!!!

The bar and restaurant are spotless along with the car park and beer garden which is great for kids. As always I try to give both good and bad opinions and the only one I have here is the female toilets are a little dated and they smell too much of air freshener but that's the only little niggle a great place keep it up :)

My…read morereview for five stars is largely drawn from my childhood....for when Sam the Greek guy owned the chippy and ran it with his wife and children. Back in the late 70's and early 80's, we used to drop in on a Friday night and the queue use to be outside the door and sometimes much further down. We would order a variety of food from fish n chips to steak and kidney pie and chips, etc. Over the years we got to know Sam and his family well at the chippy shop and from the late 1980's through to the mid-1990's my brother or I, and sometimes both of us would walk in on a Friday night and order a whole chicken, two large bags of chips and a small bag of mushrooms (for my brother). We would eat the lot and polish it down with a bottle of Lambrusco, ahhhh. My mouth is watering right now... . I miss traditional English fish n chips in the United States; I have lived across the US over the last 11 years and nowhere has come close to Sam's chippy from the 1980's on Upper Villier Street, Wolverhampton. I have bumped into Sam at Waitrose on the Penn Road every now and again during my visits back to the Uk, but not sure what he is up to now.
