Bob Faris from S&B Refrigeration was hired to install new refrigeration unit (one cond. motor, two…read moreevaporation fans and new copper lines). Prior to performing the installation work, I receive an invoice for work (adding R-22 refrigerant) that I have not been notified/aware of nor authorized. Bob took it upon himself to go forward and perform work without any notification nor any authorization from the business owner. This eventually lead to the termination of the new refrigeration unit installation agreement. The very next day, I notice problems with my walk in cooler. Temperature was rising. I called a professional refrigeration service man and he showed me a small, about 1/8" perfect hole in my suction line. It was never there before. My walk in cooler was working fine before I terminated Bob, then all of a sudden I find a perfect drilled out hole in my suction line which resulted in my walk in cooler failure. coincidence? Could have been a wood pecker. People BEWARE. If this guy (Bob) doesn't get his way, it seem like he will damage your property / equipment out of contempt. It happened to me. Bob and his business deserves NO stars. I would have left no stars if it would allow me to.

He was dismissive, abrasive, surly, and downright obnoxious, rude, and mean. He was here less than an hour. He just sent my landlord a bill (more than 3 months later), for over $500. He claimed that the pipes were frozen, even though I never touched the thermostat, and it was set at 72.* When I first moved in, my landlord called him to unplug the toilet, and he told them that someone had poured kitty litter down the toilet, which of course, I denied. Of course, they blamed me, even though that was something I never do, and, having owned my own house before, know not ever to do. They still made me pay for it. Personally, I think Staley was making up a story, to justify charging more. I hired my own plumber when my lower level flooded a few months ago. He spent nearly 2 full days working on it, and charged me less than $200. He said the bathroom sink had a faulty part, went to the hardware store, bought, and installed, a new one. I think my landlord must have some kind of "arrangement" with Bob Staley.

I am so glad I found Halo HVAC through Yelp! My AC stopped cooling in a heat wave and I had many…read moreother companies quoting me $200++ for diagnostics or unable/unwilling to come out for weeks. I went to Yelp looking for a better option and definitely found one! Halo was able to come out within a couple days of contacting them and the diagnostic fee was $89, which was to be applied to any work performed if needed. it turned out it was a tripped breaker they were able to reset and my system is cooling perfectly again... for $89!! The most notable and appreciated factor for me is they didn't come in trying to sell me service plans, upgrades to my system or accessories, or otherwise upsell me on a well maintained and well functioning older HVAC system. Even when I asked for a quote on a heat pump to take advantage of the rebates while they last, Halo didn't push me to pick the most expensive option or upsell me on a pricier type of system. And icing on the cake - despite a lot of in and out while working on figuring things out, my technician was constantly putting on and taking off booties to keep my house clean. It's a small token of respect that goes a long way, and I very much appreciate it! I'll be using Halo and referring them to friends and family in the future!

My wife noticed rusty water dripping from the bottom of our new water heater one day. Andy quickly diagnosed this not as a leaking water heater, but instead a poorly done installation that was leaking from the flex line connection at the hot water outlet on the top of the water heater. The leaking water was dripping down into the water heater and coming out the bottom. Unfortunately for us, the installation was only warranted for one year. Andy replaced both flex lines and also adjusted the outlet line to remove a tight loop that the original installer had put in. He also replaced the soldered connections with threaded nipples, so when the next water heater is installed, no soldering is required.
