We stayed in Sointula for ten days earlier this month and Coho Joe's was always our first stop. Finding a good breakfast joint while traveling is always a priority for me, and this place definitely met and exceeded my expectations! By the end of our visit, we managed to try almost all of the breakfast options and every one made for an excellent start to the day. My favorite was probably the breakfast sandwiches, which can come with your choice of bread and meat, plus egg and cheese. I usually went with the english muffin/egg/cheese/ham... which is so flavorful, I highly recommend it.
Sunday brunch was obviously very popular even in this small community, and I understood why when I sat down for it and had another great meal of eggs benedict. Handmade hollandaise, eggs, english muffin, more of the delicious ham plus breakfast potatoes and coffee was what I had. Generally the eggs benedict comes with smoked salmon made right on the island, but I was a little too late to rise that day to get there in time before it was sold out. Again, a wonderful meal.
All of the staff are delightful- the cook/manager Matt is the best, the other cook Connie is a sweetheart, the owner Ian is super nice and welcoming... and the baker, John, was hilarious and made the most delicious scones.
