As the paperwork came through, Robert assured us that everything was going as planned and these things take time. This is of course due to the court's waiting periods to file paperwork. Robert turned in all paperwork and informed us when things were being done and showing us the process is moving along. Unfortunately a failure on my ex's part to understand this led to her to become more hostile towards Robert and his team. Robert was in his rights to cancel our mediation agreement. However, he stuck it out and we were able to finish the divorce. Robert always responded to communications within 24 hours but usually same day via phone or email and was even able to assist in the negotiation of the divorce settlement so both parties were able to walk away content (given the circumstances). Again, there may be one particular yelp review that is quite hostile towards Robert and his team. In any divorce there will always be emotions involved and sometimes the mediator, who takes no sides, can become the target. 99% of the reviews for the Go Divorce Clinic are overwhelming positive. Trust those people as I trusted Robert and his team.

They have a program that uses basically three levels of client involvement that I found refreshing and reassuring. It makes the client feel empowered. I like feeling empowered. I began the process hoping that my issue would be quickly resolved. There was not much to it. I was retiring and my ex would see that, I figured, and we would agree to an adjustment and go our separate ways. So I used their services mostly for paralegal work at first with a smattering of advice from The World's Best Attorney, Thomas Shields. Minus a tiny bit of hyperbole, I really mean that. Thomas was consistently excellent, informative, and helpful during this process, and it turned out to be quite a process. To make a long boring legal saga shorter, $10,000 in legal fees (to say nothing of the legal ransom I had to pay to my ex[tortionist]-wife) and six months of life-suckage later I'm finally free. One rather irksome detail that feel compelled to include here, and the reason for my knocking off one star, is that when Thomas was off on a well-deserved break, the attorney he left in charge of my case missed an important deadline and cost me and extra month plus more in legal fees, even though they scrambled to get it in the next day after I called the office--and I'd been calling--to remind them. Well, people make mistakes, sh*t happens, but that was some expensive sh*t and I wish it hadn't happened. Other than that rather annoying snafu, the office staff was always courteous, professional and efficient. The paralegals kept me on track, and the admin was always "on it," and got back to me as soon as possible, occasionally even surprising me with their responsiveness. Laura is professional, funny, easy to talk to, honest and so nice. Now my narcissistic rageaholic ex husband wouldn't agree with all that; he actually said he was scared of her! PERFECT. Some words of advice... listen to Laura when she tells you the best way to work with her. Like not calling or emailing all the time to ask questions; make a list and call once. When she asks you for something, get it to her right away. If you haven't heard from her it's bcuz nothing has happened, the courts can be slow. She had promised to draft a letter that needed to be sent to the opposing party, but again the draft that was not very well written was sent three weeks later. When I called-to summarize provided feedback, she became dismissive berated me and was extremely unprofessional, stating that she was very busy and she preferred I did not tell her why I had called her. She appeared inexperienced, lacked confidence, and struggled with understanding CORE business and property issues, including goodwill valuation. I ultimately terminated my services with this firm, I figured if one call from a client left her FLUSTERED and defensive, I could not trust her to handle my case which is complex or face an experienced opposing counsel in court.
