The bakery opened in 1874 but the cafe didn't actually open until March 2019 so, the name is misleading. They have indoor seating and also patio seating in front or in the back. They have smoothies, milkshakes, matcha, cold brew options, sparkling wine options, ice cream, patisserie items, and brunch food. You have 6 options for their hot (or cold) non-alcoholic chocolate: classic, with marshmallows, with whipped cream, with chili flakes, with a shot of fresh ginger, with a shot of espresso; or 4 alcoholic hot (or cold) chocolate options: rum, amaretto, Bailey's or Grand Marnier. The atmosphere is very joyful and, unlike many Zurich places, it is almost always populated by young (and noisy) people, who want to have a good time. I find this very relaxing. There are also available seats at the bar and often people are standing as well, since big groups of friends joining after work is a common view there. The strongest point of the place is, in my opinion, it'a brunch selection. On weekends, you can serve brunch until as late as 4 pm. Try their omelette, it is delicious! (I got the New York one). Also, they serve breakfast combos (i chose the American and the Swiss one), which are very expensive (up to even 30 CHF if I remember well), but they are worth it! The combos are enough for two people and they are very diverse. I would be happy if they offered more drinks as included in the combo though. However, be prepared to pay Zurich prices. This pension is located above/next to the cafe/bar of the same name. It's in a residential area but a short walk from tram lines and the Wipkingen train stop. These give quick access to the airport and downtown. You check in at the bar and receive a coupon for a free beer/coffee which is a nice touch. The 5 rooms are named after various fruits. I stayed in Cherry which is a single twin bed room. Despite being above a busy cafe/bar, my room was quiet and had a view over the street and patio for the cafe. The single bathroom is shared so there might be an issue with waiting, although I had no issues during my stay. I'd definitely stay there again if I return to Zurich. For the cafe, I took advantage of the season and drank gluhwein which was delicious. They were fairly crowded on a Thursday night which I took as a good sign. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with a fire pit outside. The morning I left, I had tea and scrambled eggs with chives. Tasty and a good start with some protein for the day. The cafe was lively even at 10am with lots of local residents. Check this place out if you're in Zurich!

A moderate amount of melted cheese covering the middle, so the edges are plain. A sparse amount of bacon and even fewer potato pieces. So delicate and delicious! Good for a light meal for one person if you want to save room for dessert. Apfelstrudel: Saw this the pastry counter and to get it. Firm cooked apple cubes in very nice seasonings. Wrapped in a very thin dough, almost like the thin flammkuchen dough. And the warm vanilla cream sauce is a must since it tastes amazing against the apfelstrudel.
