Coffee U is absolutely worth the hype. Yes, it's a bit on the pricier side, but in my opinion, every dollar is justified by the quality and consistency. I always grab a chocolate croissant (non-negotiable -- they're that good), and usually pair it with whatever the seasonal iced latte is. If I'm not in that mood, the tiramisu latte or a matcha never disappoints -- all are absolutely delightful. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, even when they're slammed, which is basically always. This place stays busy whether it's a weekday or the weekend, and for good reason. Bright, energetic atmosphere, great drinks, great pastries, and a team that clearly knows what they're doing. One of those spots you keep coming back to. Highly recommend.
I found myself in the neighborhood Saturday morning, after going to support a young woman's porch bakery. A neighbor of mine had recommended Coffee U to me but I hadn't made an effort to check them out just yet. I will say, the reviews don't do this place justice. I thought some folks liked it but this is the type of coffee shop you will want to get in your car a drive immediately over to. I wish I lived walking distance. I'm not terribly far but it's definitely a drive, as I'm learning most everything here is. Coffee U felt calm and peaceful. I loved the crowd, it's so different than LaLaLand in the BEST WAY EVER! Makes me want to only ever come here. Service was EXCEPTIONAL and the drinks came out in such a reasonable time. The way an INCREDIBLE coffee shop runs. This has got to be the best coffee in the area and when I say area, I mean a 20min drive radius in every possible direction if not further. Sometimes you want to gate keep a place that is this charming because you don't want it run over, but I'm horrible at keeping a secret and must share. Perfect shop, really lovely experience. I brought my neighbor her fav order to thank her for another great recommendation. I'm holding on by a literal thread since moving here and its experiences like this that help hold me together. I don't need much in life, but a great latte is a non negotiable in my book.
The drinks were served impressively fast, which was a great start. The matcha einspänner was on the sweeter side and had an ever so slightly grainy texture. It worked well as a dessert-style drink as it wasn't bitter at all, but the matcha itself didn't feel top-tier in terms of quality. The einspänner latte, despite having a quad shot, was also quite sweet--likely due to a generous amount of syrup--which overpowered the coffee flavor a bit. That said, the café has a clean, minimalist vibe with plenty of outlets and chill, calming music--perfect for getting some work done or just relaxing.
This cafe looks really nice and has a lot of tables to sit at. A lot of people come here to study, work, or chat with their friends. I got the matcha einspanner latte and tiramisu latte. Both drinks were good, I would say they were above average compared to other coffee places in the area, nothing too special. The workers made the drinks really quick and they were also very friendly. The prices are a bit high though but the matcha tasted good, no bitterness at all. I would come back if I'm in Frisco, but I wouldn't drive out to just go here since there are a lot of other matcha places around.
Tried this spot after hearing it's got a great matcha latte and I do agree! The regular matcha latte was very satisfying and gorgeous in color. We also ordered an iced black sesame latte and the iced pistachio einspanner. I think the pistachio was the only drink I was disappointed by. Tasted artificial but to be fair, I think most places can't do a pistachio latte without that bitter artificial aftertaste so I don't blame them too much. Service was efficient and the staff was super nice. The space inside is also well designed/organized. Very japandi-esque. Regular sized drink is like a medium imo (12 oz I think) so relatively fairly priced. Overall, definitely recommend. I will spot by again when I'm in the area and maybe take some time to hang out in the space.
This is a nice little coffee shop tucked away on wade right off preston. Its set back so hard to see from the road but its na easy in and easy out so no excuses! They have a decent selection of lattes, lemonade type refrehsers and teas. The standard complement of pastries and some pricey sammies. Their lattes are unique, with flavors like black sesame and einspanner foam and tiramisu, the last one, pleasantly enough was not a augar overload but heavy enough to be a meal. I enjoyed it. Seating wise, lots of spaces and it's nice and airy inside. The staff here is always polite so its a good hangout spot if that's your thang. Definitely recommend!
I can see why Coffee U has such a high rating! It was my first time here, as I was just in town visiting. I tried their einspanner with oat milk and it was absolutely delicious. I wish I was able to visit more times to try other things on their menu (like their matcha or black sesame!) The vibe of the store is really cute, you can see a lot of people getting work done or hanging out with their friends. The staff are efficient and helpful as well, which is always a plus for a busy coffee shop! Definitely would recommend and hope to come back soon!
Very nice atmosphere! Outside, there are some seating where you can sit when its not so hot outside. It was pretty busy when I arrived, but I was able to find a seat to sit and wait for my drink to be ready. I ordered an iced Egyptian Chamomile tea, refreshing and perfect for the summer! There are also many other tea options, and variety of coffee drinks to pick from! The staff also gives a punch card to use for when you visit again.
There's a reason why the reviews for this place are so complimentary. Everything about this place is stellar. I've been craving the Einspänner coffee for a LONG time and this was one of the few places that make it. The coffee itself was fantastic albeit a little overly sweet. Personally I hope they make their season peanut butter latte a permanent item on their menu. It was packed coming in here but the folks are so efficient. I was 5th in line and still got my coffee in less than 10 minutes. Overall this is a lovely mom and pop shop and I'm so delighted they're doing well.
My iced matcha latte with cold foam was pretty good, I wanted another refill but one was enough haha. My friend got the kale & pineapple smoothie which was delish! I ordered a plain croissant & I have to agree with everyone else on these croissants they were "greasy & gooey" like if they weren't fully cooked. This place was small & not much seating but good for a quick coffee & chat (which is what I went for). They give you a number/buzzer so you can claim a spot instead of waiting for your drunk. They were pretty fast & help with recommendations for first timers like me. I may swing by again if I'm in the area.

I heard so much hype about this place and I'm so glad I finally tried it. Coffee U is one of those aesthetic cafes with more "creative" coffee drinks, often Asian-inspired, with matcha and fruit teas on the list as well. But it works really well - the drinks don't feel gimmicky and the flavors I tried (tiramisu latte, einspanner latte) complemented the coffee. The einspanner in particular was rich and filling - more of a dessert than a morning pick-me-up. The space is bright with a moderate amount of seating and outlets, and there is wifi - good for working when it's not too busy. read more
I don't think I've wanted to gatekeep a cafe as much as I want to for Coffee U. I only say that because the past few times I've visited, it's been really busy and loud. I enjoyed working and studying here the first time I visited, but when a coffee shop has coffee that's as good as Coffee U's, the secret is bound to get out. I definitely think einspanners are my favorite way to drink coffee. I'm a sucker for whipped cream and sweet cream, so I swear every time I visit, I drink two in one sitting. It's a really cute Korean cafe, and I wish it was closer to me. In just two weeks, I came maybe four or five times. Their reward card is now a permanent addition in my card holder. I highly recommend ordering any of their einspanners, but I haven't tried the blueberry one yet. My favorite is definitely the matcha, and then the tiramisu, and finally, the original. The matcha is incredibly well blended and has a really nice sweetness level. The tiramisu has these little bits of salty cheese? Cream? I'm not sure exactly what is it but it's a wonderful topping to an otherwise sweet drink. The original is definitely the least sweet, but when I don't want a super heavy einspanner, I will get that one for sure. I'm visiting Dallas again soon, and I can't wait to come back. ** Great coffee shop with a variety of different coffee drinks from traditional coffee to unique flavors like blueberry and tiramisu. Clean interior with a handful of spots to sit down and do work or relax. Though I only drink coffee from time to time, I really enjoyed the einspanner coffee here - sweetened but rich and flavorful. Their menu has a good diversity in unique flavors such as tiramisu, blueberry, matcha einspanner, and more. Whether you are someone who drinks coffee more as a dessert / sweet drink (like me), or someone who regularly drinks coffee, the menu seems extensive enough to offer something for everyone. I got the einspanner coffee, which was the perfect level of sweetness for me, but may be too sweet for people who normally don't add a lot of sugar to their coffee. It was pretty creamy as well, but I enjoyed the flavor. For those who prefer their coffee more straight up, it seems like they have all the regular classics as well. Interior is clean and well kept, just on the smaller side. Could be a good place to get some work done or relax if you can find a table and its not too crowded / noisy inside. They also have a punch card for reward for regularly returning customers. If only I lived closer, I would definitely want to return to try their other flavors such as matcha and tiramisu. read more

Wouldn't drive out of the way, but will eventually make my way back to try their unique lattes. What I got: Iced black sesame latte - on the thicker side, not as strong or sweet as I was hoping, but still good. Their espresso was pulled almost to perfection, a little on the sour end. Environment: Clean, lots of tables, pretty spacious. I like the little water station in the front cause there were a lot of people here working/studying! Service: Definitely lacking. No smiles, no hellos, very transactional. However, my drink came out pretty quick and there were about 4 orders before me. read more
Probably one of my favorite coffee shops- Their matcha is delicious. I asked for extra matcha in my latte and it was so much more flavorful! The inside is sort of small and not the best for studying since tables are pretty small. It's more of a chatting spot. Service is great and friendly! read more
The matcha here was mind-blowing. I have never had better tasting coffee and matcha. The coffee spot was a great place to study at and super pretty. It was very organized and had pretty decorations. The staff were super kind and gave good recommendations. 10/10! read more

Reviews are all true - the einspanner is the perfect drink. Smooth, full bodied, strong with a hint of sweetness. Service is very fast despite the crowding. The building is small but very cute with a fun vibe. If I didn't live an hour away I would come here daily. read more
The cutest cafe!! I love the open seeing and good amount of booths and plugs. I came here on a weekday late morning/afternoon and there was a good amount of people coming in and out. Its a great place to study, do work, and catch up w a friend. The staff was friendly and my drink came out quick! I ordered the Matcha Einspanner hot and enjoyed it! I think having it cold makes a better experience though, I was just cold lmao. This place has such a great open-air environment. This place was packed with basically every seat filled when we walked in, and once we got our drinks we could see why. The cafe itself is designed in a Japandi-esque style with distinct lines, bright whites and woods, and a live tree located inside the shop. The large windows let in a good amount of light to do work while here. There were mixes of people studying, reading, working, just enjoying the drinks and chatting; there was even a guy gaming quietly in the corner. We ordered the iced cherry blossom matcha latte, a speciality seasonal drink, and the tiramisu latte. The tiramisu latte had a thick mascarpone cream on top and had that classic tiramisu taste, but it was not too sweet (high praise, iykyk). The cherry blossom matcha was amazing. It had a subtle cherry flavor and small bits of cherry that tasted so good. I had such a good experience that I am already planning to come back again to try the sesame latte before leaving Dallas! read more
if its your first time or your 10th time and you haven't tried their Eisnpanner..please get it. I personally don't like getting sweet coffee but their eispanner is the perfect amount of sweet. It still has the strong coffee taste and a very small hint nutty sweetness. Grossly it looks very sweet but don't worry. The only reason I couldn't give the place 5 stars is because of the limited parking and not too much inside seating. The indoor seating has bar seats against the window, and they have regular seating inside. BUT still stop by their coffee is so worth! read more

Coffee U offers convenient parking and the space is very clean and nice. I saw them wiping down the tables in between customers and they seemed very kind. I ordered the Black Sesame Latte and it was a little bit hard to taste the black sesame but it was overall a good drink. I just wish it was easier to taste as I had a hard time trying to swirl the thick paste(I think) on the bottom. This place is a magnet for a lot of people and so it gets a bit loud at times but it is still a good place to go to have a quick coffee with a friend rather than to study. read more
I love coming to this cafe! They always greet you with a smile and the music is always amazing. The ambiance is nice and clean - perfect place to catch up on work or hang with your friends. I had their matcha twice and have always been impressed. I tried the matcha croissant and it was good too but the matcha taste didn't come through as much. The vibes at this coffee shop are so cute and lovely! It's a great place to socialize with friends or study, and the coffee tastes great! My first time coming was a few weeks ago and I really liked the blueberry iced coffee! It's aesthetic and tasty! I knocked off one star, as I am sad I did not receive a punch card (I was not aware until I saw my friend had one when I went with her) BUT I will make sure to ask for one next time I go. Overall, I recommend this place if you wanna get work done and/or get some caffeine in! read more

It was very busy during the weekend but everything we ordered came out quick. I had The strawberry matcha latte 3/5 nothing special but it's refreshing because it wasn't overly sweet. Americano 4/5 smooth and somewhat refreshing Most places that sell black sesame lattes have little to no sesame flavor. The black sesame matcha latte 4/5 shocked me how much sesame they used for it. At Coffee U, you get a foot in the face of black sesame flavor with bits of sesame in the latte as well. This latte was my favorite and I only drink americanos lol but it works so well i couldn't stop drinking it. Try this place out and hope this helps. read more

Cute little coffee shop! There were people studying and also meeting in groups which is exactly what a coffee shops is for! I got the blueberry coffee and my husband got the latte the coffee was good but nothing special. Would come here more for the ambiance and shop than the coffee. But still enjoyed it! read more

I don't like coffee but I came in with my family , I went for a cookie croissant. Let me tell you THEY ARE SO ADDICTING, they are the most delicious croissant/cookie I've ever tasted. I had to go back to get 2 more. I definitely recommend. Love how clean the place is and organized. Great service. read more

New, woman owned coffee shop in Frisco! The shop has amazing windows which allows the natural light to pour in and makes it extremely inviting. There are tables and chairs available for working or meeting others. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon and was surprised just about every seat was taken. There is limited seating outdoors. I tried one of their signature lattes, a Matcha Einspanner, which is similar to a matcha latte with cold foam although wayyyy better! I could tell my drink was prepared with real matcha as I could taste the distinct flavor. There was even a little bit of matcha sprinkled on top of the cold foam. There are a few sandwich options, although none for vegetarians at this time. Great selection of coffee drinks and beans available in store. They use Stumptown Coffee which I'm familiar with from a trip to Portland, OR...great choice! Looking forward to returning soon to explore a coffee drink! read more

I'm not the biggest fan of black sesame but still went ahead and tried it. The sesame flavor wasn't too potent which was a plus for me. If you like the taste of black sesame, you'll definitely like it! Overall, a smooth blend of coffee. read more

This is such a cute spot! They offer a pretty extensive menu. I love that they have einspanners here!! The drinks are delicious. The coffee is very aromatic. The matcha einspanner was my favorite drink by far. I think next time I would ask for half sweetness though. It's a great place to meet up with friends or even study. I have gone to Coffee U twice! I really enjoy this coffee shop's clean, cozy environment. I tried the Tiramisu Latte which was not bad. It has a strong coffee flavor with some sweetness from the mascarpone topping (inspired by the mascarpone cream from a traditional Italian tiramisu). I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I personally wished it was a little sweeter. The Matcha Einspanner was much more delicious. This is a sweet, creamy matcha drink that hits the spot. I would come back here just for this drink! Great place to catch up with friends! Friendly service. read more
Great place to grab a cup of coffee, they have a lot of unique flavors. They only have one size which is very disappointing, have to have a larger size than 16oz especially for non coffee drinks like matcha. The price is also too high in my opinion 9$ in total for strawberry matcha with oat milk is way too expensive. read more
New coffee in Frisco. I'm blown away by their coffees. My sister and I have tried every single flavor on their menu and they are all absolutely delicious SOOOO GOOD!!. Einspanner is my go to every time. Many selections of drinks and they also have sandwiches and pastries as well. The staff is so sweet and friendly. There are also tables where you can work or hang out with friends and family. Coffee U is by far my favorite coffee shop in Frisco. If you're in the area definitely stop by, you will not be disappointed and leave with craving it everyday like me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! read more

The ambiance of this place is incredible. I came in to work and take some meetings and the music has been playing very low. The service is fast and the workers very welcoming. I always get a drip coffee when trying a new coffee shop, there coffee is good not too strong not too watery and their cookie croissant toasted was chef kiss. read more

I love this new coffee shop! It's next door to one of my favorite yoga studios (The Alchemy Yoga), so I can get a drink after yoga AND they make THE BEST matcha latte in town!! I love working here (for remote workers). There are a select number of outlets. Lots of natural light and a nice walking trail just out the door if you need a nature break. The shop's music is great for working. read more
