As the name suggests, it is an antiques cafe, everything - the furniture, the china, the decoration - is antiques that make this cafe seem like somebody's grandmother's living room. In addition, the antiques shown are for sale. I was there with people who were all around 70 yea old, and they were all delighted. I must say that I have also liked it, but have to put it within a certain context: (1) The area - I think it is the "best cafe in Reinickendorf", but it doesn't say much about the cafe, but about this neighbourhood. This is not a touristy area, but there are few places worth a visit nearby (I am thinking mostly of the "White City", Weisse Stadt neighbourhood, which is just north of the cafe, and is Unesco World Heritage site, see http://www.qype.co.uk/place/33252-Weisse-Stadt-Berlin ) (2) The cakes etc. are all very "homey", not polished confectionery cakes, but exactly the stuff you'd get at somebody's grandma, which is not bad - just different. (3) One thing that made me a bit uneasy - it might be only me - is that there was quite a lot of memorabilia from the 1936 Olympics (the Nazi Olympics) over there. If I am not mistaken, I have even seen a swastika in one of the pictures. Now - I am pretty sure that the owner is anything BUT a Nazi (and his collection is just an antik collection), it just made me feel a bit at unease (this is why I have given it four stars in the German text, in fact). So, it might not be a place I'd come especially from the city for, but if I'd be in the area - it would be my first choice for a cafe.

Since it was my first time here, I ordered a set of 4 cup cake, just get to know the taste of it. All the cup cakes I had were really good, especially the cheese cake one. Wow, that was one of the best cheese cakes I have so far. I do find the pricing is a bit high here, but I think it's worth the price. I didn't find the mermaid and the flamingo cup cakes I saw online, maybe they were on the secret menu. The shop itself was lovely and the staff were really friendly. The stuff also told me that, due to pandemic situation, they only allow customers to enjoy the food outside or take away. It's understandale. Next time when the weather is nicer, I would like to come back and try some milkshakes.

Tucked away in Frankenstrasse, a side street off the middle of Goltzstrasse, you will find a cute…read morecupcake shop called the Cupcakeladen. The shop doubles up as a little café where the owner Inga bakes to her little hearts content, much to the delight of the sweet toothed locals and even those further afield. There is a fair selection to choose from, with flavours constantly changing day to day. If you are lucky there might just be a caramel cheesecake. It was needless to say lip smackingly tasty! Maybe if you give the photo enough thumbs up Inga will make it a regular feature ;) The carrot cake cupcakes are deliciously moist (a personal favourite of my step-daughters); the Chocolate Cupcake with Coconut frosting is also heavenly. The fruity ones are also scrummalicious. Some are a bit too sweet for me but in general they are all rather yummy. I am forever grateful for the time I popped in quickly to buy some cupcakes for a friend of mine that loves the cookie monster... but they were sold out so Inga was kind enough to make me up a batch later that afternoon. That's good service... not to mention where else can you get a customer loyalty card for eating cupcakes! You can take out, eat in, or place orders for birthday parties, baby showers or corporate events. All dietary needs are catered for with a selection of Vegan, Gluten-free and Lactose-free cupcakes too. They not only make cupcakes but cake pops, brownies, cheesecakes as I mentioned before ;D and cookies too. Also on offer are all the things you might need to bake and decorate your own cupcakes, should you wish to try your hand at baking at home.
