yummy mild spice meat pies

This is as mom and pops diner as it gets. The entire time I was there, the place was nonstop busy. The stools along the counter were full and the tables were too. The place is a little on the smaller side and it is a little cramped inside, but it shows the following this place has. It is good ole fashioned greasy breakfast food that people crave. I did not get to try a donut, I wish I had, but that means I have to go back to try one. :-) I did try a nice greasy breakfast sandwich on a bagel that hit the spot. I also tried those mini meat pies, those things were packed with a tiny bit of spice that I loved. Everyone behind the counter was friendly and they kept offering me coffee. I sat along the counter on the stools and watched how so many regulars interacted with staff and I loved the atmosphere of it.

Can I tell you the truth and say " I have passed this place several times..." and never stopped in. Shame on me. There are several locations in the area and I've never stopped in... smh. At any rate, they offer: all-day breakfast, a full menu, donuts, donuts, donuts, donuts, did I mention donuts... and hold on to your hats KING CAKES!!!! Oh my goodness!!! Y'all had me at breakfast, add in donuts + King Cake... oh chilllleee count me ALL THE WAY in. Stopped in with some of my church members after receiving spiritual food, it was now time for the natural food. And what a great choice it was. I am a person that lovesssssssssss breakfast at any time of the day or night. And this place fits the bill. Here you can get breakfast all day. And donuts too... looks like they make donuts around the clock. Do you see the assortment of donuts? Glazed donuts, apple fritters, hurricanes (not crazy about the name, but hey), donut holes, cinnamon rolls... I'm getting hungry as I write this review. On this day, we all opted for breakfast. It was about eight of us. Miss Iris did a great job of handling the large party. Seems that they pulled some tables together to accommodate us. I love this. I love that you can go into a restaurant and request to sit together and they accommodate you. Some other larger restaurants do not acquiesce and allow you to do that... But this place did. But I digress... We all ordered our food, and it pretty much all came out at the same time. Miss Iris was great in handling the large number of orders and the various substitutions and modifications that we gave her. The food was great, temperature wise, and taste. The price was absolutely right. Tips are not added in even for large parties, and this is a rarity. Most restaurants AUTOMATICALLY add tips for large parties, however, this place did not. And this afforded for us to individually bless Miss Iris, and others, who worked along with her for their excellent service. I would recommend this place. Don't be surprised if you go there and you see me. I love it here for several reasons but namely: 1. All day breakfast 2. Donuts, donuts and more donuts 3. King Cakes 4. Excellent service 5. Fair pricing The donuts: I must admit, I was floored when I entered this facility and saw the wide assortment of donuts they had. I've ONLY seen this variety of donuts at a bakery. Never have I seen it at a bakery/diner. So I am in MY HAPPY PLACE. You mean to tell me, I can get breakfast and donuts. I love donuts. Did I say I love donuts? Just for those in the back of the room, I LOVE DONUTS!!! During the 2 hours of us eating and chatting, I continuously saw them bring out fresh donuts tray after tray... And I saw people come in buying dozens at a time. The King Cakes: I am a self-appointed King Cake aficionado, point-blank PERIOD. I said it and that settles it. I mean, if you read my comment about donuts, then you gotta know that I love king cakes. What is a King Cake but a big ole, nicely decorated doughnut? At any rate, I rate this King Cake a 7 out of 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Colored crunchy sugar with iced icing sparsely drizzled on the cake, with cinnamony, soft bread... I love that the King Cakes are made on site and are shipped out via FedEx or UPS, your choice. This in and of itself is an added benefit. Shipping of king cakes is timely. However, this facility takes the guess work out of it. You are able to order and ship online. You never even have to step foot in the store. There are no lines to wait in for King Cake. Come in get your king cake and go your way or get online order your king cake and have it shipped, either way, I love it. Very helpful and friendly staff. When we enter the door we were greeted with smiles. Limited parking as it is a shared parking lot. Pricing is definitely fair.

Place has standing room only. A young man gave us his table. We sat and only 2 waitresses there. Only one at the donut counter. It took 21 minutes for this perfect breakfast. It took another 12 minutes to get the check. These folks are working hard and very pleasant. Then there's the donunts!

Cowboy burger and philly chz steak. Everything that glitters isn't gold

Hi. I ordered (in advance via grub hub) a Cowboy Burger and a Philly Chzsteak Sandwich (sub onion rings for fries) to go, at 12:54 am. It took almost an HOUR to receive my food. At 1:10 AM I was told that it would be ready in 10 minutes. At 1:25am, my party asked how long it would be and that we'd been waiting almost an hour for 2 items, to which the waitress said she would ask. No one came back to update us. When we finally got our food at 1:45am, we were simply told, "Sorry about the wait, have a good night" With no care in the world. As for the food, the taste of Old Oil overpowered the rest of the philly cheese steak to the point I couldn't finish it. And, as for the Cowboy burger, The mayo tasted sour and the meat fell apart everywhere, and by the time we got our food, the fries were cold. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, especially after 10pm. The closer you get to late night/early morning, the less care that seems to be put into the service/food. If I'm going to wait an HOUR for my food it HAS to be worth my time, as time is very valuable, especially when the total is 25+ dollars for 2 items. If food is a long wait, I strongly recommend the establishment to be as apologetic as they can and show some actual care. That would have softened the blow. Bad food + bad service = Waste of time. Due to situations like these, I think that even when they've started preparing, a refund should be available because not everyone wants to "lock in" on the idea of waiting an hour for food they wish they could have canceled. That makes me never want to order with grub hub again

Roast Beef Po-Boy Sandwich, French Fries, Fried Shrimp Po-Boy Sandwich, chocolate milk

Second visit here and it was much better than the first. Had a group of 5 all sat at the bar in front of the donut display pictured. Again there's a good amount of seating, and a very eye catching menu. This time I went with the hot sausage poboy...it was good. I'm from about an hour south of the New Orleans area, and the Westbank has hot sausage everywhere as I didn't even know what it was before visiting as much as I do now, and I love it. They served me beer in the coffee shoppe/restaurant, as there's a daiquiri shop connected. I ate half of the poboy there and the next morning I finished the other half and it was still very good. Also bought a mini king cake (no filling sadly) and it was pretty good. No complaints on the king cake, I don't remember the pricing at all of this visit but I enjoyed it more than the first visit which it should've been around the same time of day...around 10-11 pm. I enjoy this spot, they have donuts & chocolate milk and the servers are nice and friendly.

I love this cafe! Friendly people and lots of options. You can eat bad (sugary) or do a protein meal with a lot of a la carte options. I did both sugar and carbs. Ate grilled pork chops + an egg and also tried the fried apple pie. Also bought a couple of doz of fresh donuts for the swim meet. Cheap!

This place has the best food, coffee and Donuts omg to die for this has the best in the US!!!

Was only in New Orleans for 5 days, had to come here twice! The donuts are so yummy. The Beignets are the best in town.

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

The menu has many choices. I ordered the firecracker shrimp with side arugula salad. The shrimp was yummy the salad too but expected more on the salad maybe cucumber or tomatoes over all for just having cheese on Arugula with dressing was ok. I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.

The design of the shop has fresh tile and hardwood flooring, paired with a reclaimed wood ceiling and multiple styles of seating. It feels very Pacific Northwest - which is good in my book. The seating is definitively Wayfair - so not very comfortable. I am hoping they can incorporate a cozy couch somewhere in the space: I found there wasn't a great spot to feel truly settled in. The baked goods looked great, and they offered at least one gluten-free option. I had a ham and cheese croissant and was surprised that it was very crispy and both the ham and cheese were also good quality. Cherry Roasters definitely cares about their craft and it shows!

I have finally found you!" The joy & heaven in that one sip would have been worth the full price of a cup of coffee. These folks take their coffee very seriously. They aren't just making money here... they are making people happy! Bonus points for top-of-class service and subdued ambiance which invites quiet contemplation. And, bonus, for those cutting back on caffeine but who love the flavor of coffee, they use the Swiss water method - not the chemicals to extract the caffeine. All these elements add up to make Cherry Coffee Roasters my favorite coffee shop.
