The most gracious, friendly, kind-hearted owners!
    Dan L.

Small place but very good sandwiches. My mom got "the best BLT" she'd ever had and a brownie that she loved as well. I had the salmon sandwich which was a warmed version of smoked salmon, onion and Swiss on a little baguette as well as a mango banana smoothie with coconut water. My dad had a turkey club that he loved too. Love all around. The sandwiches look on the small side but they're filling. Mom only had half and dad who usually can clean up leftovers was too full to have it so we took it out with us. Nick and Georgia were so friendly and sweet. They're worth a trip in just to see them. Update: My mom (who is pretty picky) loved this place so much, we ended up coming in every day during our stay. Everything we had was delicious (several smoothies, chicken salad sandwich, code 10 sandwich, more of the BLTs). We're seriously going to miss Nick and Georgia when we're gone, they are so welcoming, friendly and hard working.

Pretty good! I don't know if I would consider it a Boston must see but after walking the city and craving a great standard sandwich this was paradise! They have sandwiches on the menu that sounded delicious but they are more than accommodating to customize it. We added milkshakes which were a little runny for my taste but were a treat none the less. The service is friendly, fast and you could tell he is a local who knows his patrons. While eating the mailman and a regular (or I'm guessing) came in and it was as though old friends were catching up while grabbing food. Cool place!

My boyfriend insisted that we come here for the green monster ice cream when I was in town, and I'm so glad we did! The portion size is huge so it's more than enough to share. It was also the most incredible mint ice cream I have ever had. The mint ice cream comes with cookies and cream and chocolate swirl. It's the perfect level of soft and such a great treat to bring to the park across the street! The customer service here is incredible, and they were so friendly to both of us. They also recognize my boyfriend so it was really nice to feel so welcomed in a new area. I went a second time and the cookie dough ice cream was so great as well! The cozy shop is located on a corner. If you're in the mood to sit there, there's seating available. However, it's not far from two huge parks with fountains that you can bring your ice cream to and enjoy the outdoors! :-)

    Eggplant Sandwich

My absolute favorite place to get lunch from in the South End!!! I have ordered their eggplant sandwich (in a wrap) multiple times and it is the best I've ever had!! I've also gotten their tuna salad and salads and I just love it! They make you feel like family there and their orders are always 100% correct even with requests! Everything is so good and ready so quickly!! Cant recommend them enough!

But this place completely lives up. 6 different ramens, $17.95 for the regular bowls. I was recommended the red hot miso ramen, a spicy option. You order up at the counter, and they give you a buzzer that buzzes when your ramen is ready to grab at the counter. The ramen was ready in under 10 minutes. First, the broth was remarkably complex and rich, with an endless depth that never became too overbearing -- perfect. The noodles were perfectly cooked as well, served up in a decent portion. Toppings-wise, you get tofu, soy crumble, corn, arugula, and sprouts, along with plenty of sesame seeds. I would've liked some proper greens (other than a few raw arugula leafs), but that's the most minor of complaints. Service was decent enough -- informative and helpful in describing the options. All in all, top-notch vegan ramen. Highest recommendation.

Swung by this place on a weekday for lunch to avoid the rush - most weekends I pass by this place and the line wraps around the street! My friend and I stepped in and were immediately greeted with a sour attitude. We were confused on the menu whether our ramen included chili oil or not, and the staff did not help explain anything and just quickly dismissed our questions to get us to order quicker. Once we sat down, the food was done relatively quickly. However I was very surprised on what we had gotten. Now I admit - I am not a vegetarian. However, I have enjoyed many vegetarian meals and this was quite upsetting. We both got the garlic miso ramen. The ramen was not temperature hot at all. The chili oil was not flavorful. The "soy meat" was simply just mushed tofu with awful texture, and it soaked into the soup and created a pretty unpleasant texture (I took a picture which makes me sad and unappetized). I was unable to finish my bowl. The food combined with the service made for a pretty negative time for me. I really wanted to love it - a place with a full vegetarian menu is amazing for all my friends who have that restriction! Maybe if they tried pan frying the tofu create a better textural experience? I will not plan to come back, and will highly recommend you go to any other restaurant in Back Bay.

She said it was fine as long as we didn't order drinks, then seated us at the bar. We were only given drink menus. When the bartender came over to take our order, I had to ask for a food menu myself. Our seating was also uncomfortable. We were placed right next to the bar/server station. Saltie Girl was easily one of our favorite meals in Boston…read more We had heard so much about Saltie Girl and knew how popular it was, so we made sure to get a reservation. Even going in the middle of the week, almost every normal lunch time slot was already booked. We managed to snag a 2:45 PM reservation, and when we arrived, it was VERY clear why reservations are a good idea. The place was still packed! The outdoor patio was completely full, but luckily we had booked indoor seating. Honestly, it worked out perfectly. We got to enjoy the beautiful interior and restaurant atmosphere while escaping the Boston humidity. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. Service throughout our meal was friendly, quick, and attentive, especially considering how busy they were. The menu is fairly small, but there was still so much we wanted to try. We started with the Hamachi Tartare, made with yuzu leche de tigre, serrano, Sweety Drop peppers, and macadamia nuts. This was such a refreshing start. Bright, citrusy, slightly spicy, and full of different textures without overpowering the hamachi. Of course, we HAD to order the famous New England Lobster Roll. We opted for the cold version, and it absolutely lived up to our expectations. There was plenty of lobster, and the flavor was fresh and clean without being overly dressed. Definitely one of my favorite lobster rolls from our Boston trip. The Jonah Crab Carbonara was another standout. Spaghetti with crab, corn, chanterelles, pecorino, and preserved lemon made for such an interesting combination. It was rich and comforting, but the preserved lemon helped brighten everything up so it didn't feel too heavy. My partner ordered the Saltie Girl Clam Chowder, made with potatoes, celery, bacon, and fried clams. He could NOT stop talking about it afterward. Out of all the chowders he tried during our trip, this was his favorite. It clearly left an impression because he was still bringing it up later in the trip! Even the warm house-made artisanal bread with sea salt butter deserves a mention. Sometimes bread and butter is just bread and butter...but this was absolutely worth ordering. And because we were in Boston, there was no way we were skipping the freshly shucked oysters. We tried the Unicorn Pink from Damariscotta, Maine, which was medium-large, deep and meaty with a mineral finish. The Rocky Nook from Kingston, Massachusetts was much larger, with a medium brine, silky texture, and buttery-sweet finish. Lastly, the Paine's Creek from Brewster, Massachusetts was smaller with a clean brine and a really nice sweet citrus finish. Trying all three side by side was such a fun way to taste how different each oyster could be. For drinks, we kept things simple with a pint of beer and their Frosé Spritz, which was especially refreshing on a warm and humid afternoon. From start to finish, everything we ordered was delicious. There really wasn't a dish we regretted ordering. If I had to pick the most memorable items, it would be the cold lobster roll for me and the clam chowder for my partner. Those were the dishes we were still talking about afterward. The only downside is that Saltie Girl is clearly very popular, so getting a prime reservation can be difficult. The menu is also on the smaller side, so if you're looking for a massive seafood menu with endless choices, this isn't really that kind of restaurant. But what they do offer feels intentional and very well executed.
