I loved this shop when I first walked in; the owner seemed friendly, and there were lots of pretty…read morethings to look at: Jewelry, vintage purses, furniture, etc. I ended up falling in love with a beautiful old sign, in mint condition, for a French aperitif. While debating whether to splurge (the sign cost nearly a month's rent) the owner shared a bit about the sign's history, and explained that she and her husband actually had two of the same signs (though the second sign was stored in a different location).
I ended up buying the sign, and had it shipped from Italy to France. When it arrived a couple of weeks later, I discovered it wasn't the pristine, rust-free sign I thought I was purchasing (I took photos while I was there), but rather, the rusted, scratched, and scraped sign they had in storage. The deception really stung, primarily because the people seemed so nice. More than a month later, and the issue hasn't been resolved. Future clients should be aware.
