We found everyone we dealt with at Cochrane North Star Ford (Barb Pelkman, Amie Millar, Derrick…read moreRedden as well as the Manager Adeen Bunning and Antoinette who passed the vehicle to us to name a few) extremely friendly, helpful and professional My husband and I would gladly refer this dealership to anyone, as it was a very pleasant experience for us! North Star Ford in Cochrane is unlike any other dealer ship we have dealt with over the past many years!

I purchased a brand new Ford Mustang Mach-E and this has been one of the worst automotive ownership…read moreexperiences of my life. The vehicle has suffered from repeated and dangerous brake system failures. TWICE, brake-related malfunctions caused a loss of control, resulting in an accident. This is not speculation -- this is a serious safety failure. On top of that, my vehicle has been brought to Ford North Star MORE THAN 10 TIMES for the same brake issue, and yet the problem remains unresolved. Each visit results in excuses, resets, or "could not replicate" responses -- while I continue driving an unsafe vehicle. Most recently, the brake/parking system failed again and left the car completely immobilized in my own garage. A brand-new car that cannot move is unacceptable. A brand-new car with recurring brake failures is dangerous. This dealership has had ample opportunity to diagnose and fix the problem and has failed every time. I have lost all confidence in their technical ability, honesty, and accountability. If you value safety, reliability, and real after-sales support, think very carefully before trusting this dealership.

Bought a "certified/inspected" used car from them, in cash, along with their extended warranty…read more Asking about the air conditioning prompted the sales manager (Gary) to come out of his office to berate me on how thoroughly they go over their cars. Well, the AC was dead 3-weeks later. Only managed to get it fixed (at no cost) because I wasn't willing to bend over and feed me their lines of BS, when I know exactly what the problem is! Took almost a month to get my car back, after fighting tooth and nail to at least get a loaner! Well, they screwed the pooch long enough that I missed the birth of my grandson (having no vehicle) and they had it longer than I did! Clearly they're the dealership equivalent of The Eagles, cuz they'll simply take the money and run ***DONT DO IT PEOPLE!!! THERES LITERALLY A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP NEXT DOOR!!!!***

The greeting was warm & friendly with no wait. Some unexpected repairs were required that also required them to keep my vehicle longer than expected. They went above & beyond in ensuring I was taken care of with regards to being able to get to work. They also accommodated my timing for pick up, which was after the service area closed. They are still working out processes and systems, but I expected that and it didn't inconvenience me at all. As well, the work came in under quote which was a nice surprise. I won't hesitate to rebook when needed.

Disappointing Experience with Poor Transparency, Inspection, and Safety Oversights…read moreMy first review was based off excitement and a smooth buying process until ... ... I recently purchased a truck from this dealership, and my experience has been incredibly frustrating. The truck was supposedly subjected to a "full 180-point inspection," covering critical components like the engine, transmission, suspension, and exhaust system. However, shortly after purchase, I noticed significant transmission issues, including harsh shifting, which should have been caught during this inspection. I was later advised that the issue stems from engine oil leaks caused by the VCT solenoid seals, a problem that's well-known with this model. These issues should have been identified before selling me the truck. To make matters worse, I was never informed about the low tire tread (4/32), and now I've been advised I need new tires soon. The dealership should have flagged this during their supposed "full inspection." Additionally, my husband was double-charged $6,000 for an extended warranty on his truck, and it took us weeks to get a hold of anyone at the dealership to resolve the issue. It was an incredibly stressful process that shouldn't have happened. But the most concerning part? His truck also had a loose steering wheel, a safety hazard that almost caused a serious accident on the highway. This issue was never flagged during the supposed inspection either. After hearing about the truck's "thorough inspection," it's hard to believe no one noticed these major safety issues. To add to my frustration, I took my truck to another dealership for maintenance and was informed that I need to consent to a transmission overhaul just to have techs take pictures of the transmission when it's taken apart and send them to the warranty provider for approval of the repair cost. If the repair cost is not approved, I'll still be left with a $1,900 bill just to put the transmission back together. If the overhaul is not approved, I'll face a $10,000 cost for the transmission repair, despite the issue stemming from the VCT solenoid seals, a problem that should have been caught in the inspection. I feel deceived, especially considering the dealership assured us that the trucks had undergone thorough inspections. These problems, especially the safety hazard in my husband's truck and the transmission issue in mine, should have been identified and addressed before selling us these vehicles. We trusted this dealership to be upfront and transparent, but instead, we've been left dealing with costly repairs and severe safety concerns. For a dealership that claims to provide quality inspections, the oversight of such major issues is inexcusable.
