She would come into the hospital with a small urine infection, otherwise okay in herself, and then weeks later, still there with delerium and it did not get bette,r till I got her back home. Care for her in this hospital ,was not always what I would have liked for my elderly loved one. I was her full-time carer and managing her syptoms well in her home. We tried to avoid the hospital ,because so many times , mum actually got worse in there. She would go in for one thing, urine infection, pace maker and weeks later still stuck there suffering with delerium. During july 2023 we had to give in , and take her down with chronic hypoxia symptoms. Quickly dispelled from resus, she was admitted in with a urine infection and after a week almost sent home without treating the Hypoxia. I so wish I had just taken her home but I was trying to help her get the seizures sorted out. She begged me to take her home as the staff were tipping her up and down in the bed and her stats were all over the place. Her time was up after a month and They sent her to a care home against her and my will, and in the care home they were woefully inept at managing her symptoms and at some point she started to a point of no return. Left in the bed on her own, fed food lying down ,when she had a hiatus hernia. She was physically sick and never could eat or drink again. Admitted back into A and E. The stroke unit refused to see her, and she had a massive stroke,whilst being injected with fluids. I saw it all happening, and it was as if she was being excecuted. The drs on the ward that day surrounded me, and stopped me being with her in her last breaths. They asked, what did your mother come in for originally? They were clearly frightened. So I now have ptsd from that day. Questions-why did the hospital send my mother to a care home who couldnt look after her? Why did the nurses on the ward not manage her hypoxia better? I am quite happy to blame Watford hospital but I blame myself more for sending her to you.

I was quite shocked, as I have been living in the UK for so many years now and this is the first time that this has happened to me. I believe that the fact that I am not originally English gave them the right to assume that I did not have any knowledge of the English language and that I required an interpreter during my visit. I would also like to point out that I did actually graduated in Interpreting and Translation myself in my home country and I honestly find such behaviour from the hospital staff quite concerning and offensive. The doctor who visited me was also incredibly rude and patronising; when I refused to take off my clothes as she asked me, as I only wanted some of my body parts to be examined during the visit, she kept making nasty remarks and wasn't even paying attention to what I was saying. In the end the doctor told me I was "free to escape" (using these exact words), which I found totally inappropriate. After this bad experience, I genuinely hope I will never come across that doctor again.

I took the patch off, and it was all read, swallow, pain. I called the hospital, they said, "it is normal", and it is not! She was tough, an Unexlerience surgeon, she harm me, they told me, it is normal. "Is not", I know my body reaction to operations. And I never had this in the first operation. The first was very good. No pain, not read eye. Of course, they use better doctors for the good eye. And for the lazy eye, it seems the train people in this kind of operations, they used unexperience surgeons, they do not care!. The visiion of the new operated eye, is the same or worst than before. They did not put a good prescription lens either, What is the use of the second operation then? To make money out of my eye?. Why they did not listen, When I ask for the same surgeon?. They do not listen to patiens anymore, and not all the doctors are good there!. I saw the surgeon just in the theatre, she did not came to see me before, I have to ask to see her in the theatre, before she operate. Otherwise, I would not see her at all. A mess! All that said, if it's a minor injury that you're suffering from and you're within walking distance (the parking is next to non-existent), then you could do worse than to visit Townlands. The staff (with the exception of the auxilliary nurse who will try to convert you to religion) are helpful and friendly and waiting times are a lot less than a bigger hospital. If, using your own judgement, a couple of stiches won't solve your problems, then head straight to the Royal Berks - where you can be ignored for a few hours.

I checked in at the front desk and discussed my dodgy knee with them and was promptly added to the queue. I was told that I was 7th, and my turn soon arrived. The doctor I saw was incredibly helpful and showed great empathy for my injury. She didn't dismiss it and say "just rest, you'll me reet" like some doctors do. She referred me for an MRI at fracture clinic on Wednesday and sent me on my way with some extra tall crutches! They have signs around the hospital asking if patients would recommend them to our friends and family? I certainly would!

I was impressed by how the staff greeted an elderly gentleman by name, and dealt with his inquiry. I registered with a minor hiccup, and was called back for a general health checkup. I got a TB test done from here recently, and got vaccinated against it as well. My nurse was a lovely woman who talked to me about the disease, symptoms and prevention. I had no antibodies apparently, and the lifetime vaccine was quickly administered. Its an efficient practice, so I would recommend anyone to use it for their basic medical needs.

Never Again! I am…read moregoing to write about the worst experience I have even had at the hands of a Doctor in a Hospital. The Whittington Hospital to be precise. His name is Dr. Joquau Kravvas from Thesalonica Greece, and he possesses the worst kind of Greek Male Mysogony that exists. I was greeted with "Why are you wearing two jumpers"? It is very cold possible the coldest day of the year I replied. He explained nothing about the treatment I had gathered from the nurse that he was about to remove some red skin that could possible develop into a cancerous growth, in the event it did not. Dr. Brarrack joked with the nurse that he would 'Have To Remove Half Of My Face' due to what he could see. I certainly hoped not. He drilled ferociously for half an hour. It was relentless. I hope I would;d not be scarred for life. The nurse said the scar would bleed for a week or so. It went on to bleed for over six weeks, I had to visit the A&E of UCHL during the Xmas break as it bled soo much throughout the dressing and I woke up to blood on my pillow for six weeks. This was embarrassing as I was staying with relatives for some of the holiday, Three months late the scar is still there. I wrote an honest review of my treatment and mentioned his name. He had it removed. But I doubt that Yelp will allow vanity struck doctors like him to remove an honest review. I like the nurses in the Dermatology dept. and I like the Italian coffee and soup stand that is parked in front of the Whittington, but I never want to set eyes on Joqau Barrack as long as I live. This place might have a nice canteen and a well-stocked shop as other reviewers have mentioned...but the most important thing (for me) is to let poorly folks escape as soon as they can! Anyway...I had to come to Whittington for a chest x-ray and blood tests. I'd never been here before, but there were helpful staff at reception to point me in the right direction. X-ray time: - I had a note from my doctor, so I managed to register in less than 5 minutes. - They gave me a buzzer, so I could take a seat by their huge windows and look down to the shard and London skyline. - The buzzer went off in just a few minutes - Next I had to wait outside the x-ray rooms...this was less than 5 minutes as well... - The staff were friendly, but speedy (and I exited out of a different door after changing out of my robe...so the whole process was really streamlined.) Blood test time: - This time I just had to take a ticket (at 10:30am I was 10th in line.) - They had so many staff in each of the rooms, that even this was less than 15 minutes wait. - The staff here were friendly and chatty too (although they were also speedy stars) This meant I was out of hospital within an hour, even though I didn't have appointments in advance. Amazing. Other than that, they have friendly reception staff *gasps*, friendly and efficient nurses...and the whole place seems new and clean.

This is a hospital where kids are kept entertained by clowns and hospital radio, this is the place where children with the worst diseases get healed and where research is carried out to make sure even more get healed in the future. It's a depressing fact that children get ill. You'd think prior to creation that God could have at least made a minimum age for illnesses as 18 or something. Unfortunately, that's not the case, but rest assured this place is doing everything it can to rectify matters.

I think the use of technology and…read moreresearch in the hospital means that they can provide services which can't be obtained anywhere else, but in my experience their nursing care is very variable and the cleaning and catering are just as variable as elsewhere in the UK. My son spent long periods of time in the hospital and we had some horrendous experiences here: his blood pressure wasn't checked after an operation for eight hours (until I demended it should be), he was nearly given a double dose of paracetamol (and would have been if I hadn't argued with a nurse), we spent hours listenin to other patient's TVs at top volume even late at night, and the ensuite bathrooms attached to some of the rooms he stayed in were little short of disgusting. I'd say don't expect the worst... but don't expect the best either.
