My parents "discovered" this restaurant a month or two ago and have been back a handful of times. As New Englanders who retired to this area of GA, one of their biggest gripes is that it's hard to find good seafood. There are plenty of southern spots who do sushi or a boil, but not the fried clams and fish and chips like we are used to up North. This spot, however, has it! I had the fried grouper sandwich and it was massive. I took half home and heated it in the air fryer the next day for lunch. It reheated beautifully. Three others in my party, who have been multiple times, all got fish and chips. Again, sizable portion. The seafood dip was just okay. It was very heavy in the cream cheese (and I like cream cheese!) I wouldn't order it again. It was a decent sized portion of dip, but only 6 toasted baguette slices, so we had the rest on rolls. More baguettes are $1 more. The free rolls were quite tasty. Very reminiscent of Texas Roadhouse rolls without the honey cinnamon butter. They'll bring you out more rolls as well. We got 3 desserts because the prices were great and the clear winner was the gluten free brownie sundae. You'd never know it was g-free. The desserts are on display in the entrance but they are not nearly as large in real life so that was a bit misleading. The banana chocolate cake had some kind of drizzle on it, caramel perhaps, which wasn't listed on the menu. I wish I had known because I don't care for caramel. Cake was fine though, perhaps a smidge dry. The pineapple rum cake was just okay. Definitely go with the brownie sundae! I'll definitely be back to this spot! 1 Star for the friendly service, 1 Star for the shrimp cocktail (although cold shrimp on ice is hard to mess up unless the shrimp isn't fresh.) Otherwise, a lackluster meal with icky sides. The mac n' cheese was congealed neon orange cheese, like the kind squirted on nachos at a movie theaters, and the sweet potato fries were SO dessert-y-sugary and should've been described as such on the menu because they tasted really odd next to fish. Bone-dry golf ball hushpuppies were tough to swallow. Grilled fish entrees were just okay; not terribly seasoned and needed the accompanying choice of "sauces" that one of our entrees wasn't served with. We ate here on the early side of dinner on a Saturday and what surprised me most was how untidy and dirty the bathroom was. I would think that after a weekend lunch that the staff would be on top of having the bathrooms ready for the dinner rush. Saw several of the servers plunking away in a hallway on their cell phones, which made me question how clean the kitchen was if they were too preoccupied to have the bathrooms clean for dinnertime, especially on the weekend. Environment is lively and fun, with the expected beachy music playing and tropical decor. Drink selection is good, and parking is ample, but I doubt I'd be returning. read more

It took me forever to get out what meat I could. Green beans: They were ok, a little too greasy. Hush puppies: Also ok, probably the best part of my meal. I really can dig a casual fish spot, and that's exactly what this is. One slight warning, make sure everyone in your party likes seafood, as it makes up most of the menu. I got the crab cake appetizer and it was yummy, almost comparable to Barbara Jeans. I also had the blackened mahi with beans and rice. The dish was well prepared and tasty. I'll start off with the positives...the booths are big, which is nice, and they have a nice cocktail selection. That's really it. Both hosts at the front were on their phone. It wasnt very busy but its a bit rude to clearly not pay attention at work. I was seated and waited about 3-5 minutes to be greeted. My server smelled like smoke when she finally came to the table. I was waiting on 2 others to arrive, which really is the only reason i didnt leave. I ordered my drink and just waited... and waited. Finally everyone arrives and we order. I will not speak on the food others ordered, but I will talk about mine. I got the fish and chips. I'm not a fan of cole slaw so i asked for extra fries instead. The oil the food is fried in tasted stale. The fish was over cooked, bland and dripping with oil. Granted, I know its a fried meal but really? I shouldn't have oil dripping from the fish onto the table. Hot sauce couldn't save it. Seasoning salt couldn't save the fries. And who serves fish and chips without tarter sauce... Coastal breeze is pretty good for what it is. It's kind of the Applebee's of seafood restaurants so, do with that what you will. The majority of the menu tastes frozen. The service is always good and their recently renovated patio is nice. I usually get the crab cakes, they're pretty good but usually have little hard shell pieces. I like their seafood dip, their soups are good. Their salads are weak and the croutons are terrible. I got the ahi tuna before and it tasted very... weird and old so I didn't eat it. The grilled fish entrees are always very greasy, not fresh and not good at all so stick with fried food or pastas. The inside... I don't know. There's a giant cartoon shark statue holding dirty plastic desserts as you walk in so... that tells you something. Indoors has retirement home vibes so sit in the bar or patio. read more

Once again my coworker chose lunch. I really need to speak up more We passed this place on the way to a job walk and he said we would eat there once we were finished. You know exactly what I did when he said that. Went straight to YELP! Inside seems a bit dreary. Like blah. Nothing to write home about. They need to spruce it up a bit. Our host was kind, quick and attentive. We started with the ahi tuna appetizer. It was ok. The portion size was larger than most tuna apps I've had and I appreciated that it came with two sauces along with wasabi as well. The sear on it was a bit lack luster for me. It needed more "crust" on it to have the flavor profiles I prefer....like the crunch from the outside to mix with the delicious creamy melt in your mouth taste ahi tuna can provide. Texture. It lacked texture. The green beans did however have a nice bite "crunch" if you will. They were seasoned well. They were hot. All around I was pleased I had ordered an extra side dish. The salmon salad was more lettuce than anything. That was disappointing. The salmon was a bit over cooked but when you have such a thin piece of salmon that is easy to do. I asked for the glaze on the side and I am glad I did so. It was way too sweet for me. Here was the kicker...once I finished my meal, I went to the restroom because the trip back to the office was a lengthy one. It had cobwebs and I have no idea what was on the walls. If I had walked in there before we ate I would've asked my director to leave. If your bathroom looks that way, I can't imagine the kitchen. This place is a complete pass for me. The cleanliness was disturbing and the food was meh. This was a disappointing visit. We went on a Saturday afternoon. We were greeted and seated quickly. The decor is OK....nothing special. Although our server was very pleasant, she was not very attentive. The biggest expectation I have of a server is that they keep the drinks filled....I completely understand that quality of food and speed of food being delivered is not in their control. Unfortunately, our drinks weren't kept full. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't anything special either. We both got fish and chips, which came with fries, coleslaw and 3 hush puppies. Neither of us cared for the coleslaw (but we are both fairly picky about it). The fish and fries were OK, but I suspect, were frozen and not fresh. She was friendly and checked on us multiple times. I ordered the fried shrimp. I received eight lightly breaded shrimp. The fries were cooked just right and the cole slaw that came with it was fresh and crunchy. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My husband and daughter both tried the seafood bake. The portion was huge and came out piping hot. The sauce had great flavor but you need to make sure you like garlic if you order it. We loved it. It's been a while since we've been here. We drove by all the time and always saw cars outside, we were so curious about the hype. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing for us. The waitress recommended the coastal shrimps and promised that it was lightly breaded... although the sauce was good, it was heavily breaded. I do have to give credits to the quality of shrimps, doesn't taste rubbery and was juicy. The oyster Rockefeller was heavily cheesed... to the point where I cannot really taste the oyster. I tried one without the cheese and thought it wasn't too bad. The New England clam chowder was different, it wasn't creamy, but had too much flour, it almost taste like the Sawmill gravy... The sweet potato fries was really interesting, it had sugar on it! Sugar!? We thought maybe the kitchen made a mistake, but waitress said that is how they do it... well, it was too way too sweet. Then, when I went into the bathroom, to wash my hands from cleaning the filthy table, there was feces all in the toilet. I immediately asked to speak to the manager, and a young lady came over that said she was one of them, but she appear to be just a waitress herself. I find that very deceitful.
