I visited the Coastal Acupuncture clinic in Savannah Georgia on May 2, 2013. It was something that my wife had made an appointment for after I told her that I did not believe in these voodoo witch doctor practices. I do believe in research, technology, and cures based on scientific experiments proving that methods work and the ones administering the treatment has gone through great lengths to receive an education at one of our top medical schools. Well, as things usually happen for me, I now look like a complete and utter fool. Over the past 20+ years I have had knee injuries, surgeries, and now suffer from arthritis in both knees and ankles. A day hasn't gone by that I haven't been in constant pain. And those who have arthritis know that some days can be excruciating. On May 2, 2013, I could hardly walk up the two flights of stairs to get into the acupuncture clinic. I had pulled my groin muscle only a few days earlier and compensating for that pain caused the arthritis to act up even worse. Again, I went into that office very skeptical and, to be honest, a bit upset with my wife that she went against me and set up this appointment. After 45 minutes of the most relaxed time that I have felt in many years, I came out of Isa's office with a little extra pep in my step. The pain was not 100% gone at the time but it was at the lowest level that I can remember in a very very long time. Going down the steps, leaving his office, I felt as if I could have run down the steps with ease. We ended up going to the mall. Which was usually a challenge for me as my wife loves to visit all the shops and different department stores. (Note to self, try to act as if I am still in pain around the wife. I still hate shopping.) :-) The next morning, I woke up feeling fresh and relaxed. There was almost no pain in my knees/ankles and especially in my groin area. I ended up walking 4 miles on the treadmill at 4.5 mph. I usually try to play racquetball or walk during my lunch break as I am trying to shed a few extra pounds. Both activities are done with considerable pain and the after affects last for several days. This day was different. My regular partner wasn't able to make it so I ended up playing cutthroat with 2 younger Army officers that were in really good shape. I played 3 very intense games with them until they had to leave. I was still feeling really good and was able to move easily around the court with little to no pain or discomfort. I decided to get on one of the treadmills in our gym and started at a modest 4.5 mpg pace. Within seconds I knew something was different. I felt good; full of energy and my legs seemed fresh. I increased my speed to 6.5 mpg. I went for a mile like this until a figured I would push myself a little. 7.5 was my next step. I completed another mile at that speed when another friend walked into the workout room and motioned to see if I wanted to play racquetball. I was a little worried that maybe it was false security and I might be hurting myself even more. But I still felt really good. We ended up playing 3 more very competitive games that, because there were only 2 now, required me to move faster and farther than when there is 3 players. I am here to swear that the treatment I received was the most incredible experience I have ever had. Today, my legs are 95% pain free. I played 4 games today and everyone that I have been playing with in the past was extremely impressed with my mobility and energy. I was even wearing a sauna suit. If you are in any pain or feel stressed or other worries on your mind, give this treatment a chance. I am going for my second treatment soon and I am very excited to where this is going to take me. my first experience with acupuncture was this week with Isa and i could not be more pleased with the session itself or how i feel afterwards. first, i'll talk about the pain level and needles, then the results. the needles hurt less than any tattoo or piercing, less than a paper cut and less than when you accidentally stab your finger with a safety pin or needle, and i have a phobia of needles. so there is no pain there, then you're on the table and i've never been more relaxed. i've had massages and i've been hypnotized and this was a whole other level of relaxation. i left feeling calm, collected, happy, relaxed and i don't think i've ever slept as good as i did that night. my next session is planned, and if you're thinking about trying acupuncture, i couldn't recommend it more from Isa. give it a shot, you have nothing to lose and a whole world to gain! read more

I have tried numerous back injections, pain-killers, chiropractors, and the list goes on. However, last week and this week were my first two sessions of acupuncture and I must say, the needles alone are enough to make you imagine the worse, but Isa is so fast at placement and you can barely even feel them touching your skin.
