I've never seen a facility corner a patient into paying for services without initiating pharmaceuticals. It is honestly extremely unethical, what is the point of having counseling/therapy availability if you are co-erced to take medication anyways. This is all useful information that should've been prompted on psychology today when looking up a therapist to save the patient time. Not every patient needs medication and pharmaceuticals and to restrict access to care to benefit your own monetary needs are disappointing.
