Tip: Collect Petro-Points, and redeem your points on snacks and more…read more I needed to fuel my rental car. I was driving up to Winnipeg from Steinbach. I noticed this Petro-Canada gas station to my right, just before hitting St Vital Shopping Centre. I decided to fuel here. The gas station had a few customers fuelling their vehicles when I got there. I had no problem finding an available gas pump. I inserted my Petro-Points card to earn points. I then inserted my five-cent-per-litre discount card, and tapped my credit card. All was great. I did hands-free fuelling here. It was nice. I ended up throwing away a couple of empty cups from my vehicle as gas was pumped into my rental vehicle. The entire gas pump area was clean. The only downside is that this gas station had posted a decent gas price when I was there. It isn't the cheapest price in the city, though. Further west of this area, it was five cents a litre cheaper. I was good stopping by here, as the low-fuel light came on just before I got to this gas station. I had a great experience fuelling my car. (286)

The Exchange is nearby, across from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, which is next door to security. The Exchange is named after the Exchange District in Winnipeg. This area was originally modelled after Chicago. It is also a national historic site, and comprises the Planetarium and Manitoba Museum, among some of the attractions for both locals and tourists. I headed over to the cold drink fridge. I went with Pure Leaf lemon. There was a zero-sugar version that was new to me. I had to get it. I waited in line for pay. The woman ahead of me took her sweet time putting her purchases away before moving on. My flight was delayed, so I was okay with killing some time. The woman who cashed me out was great. I paid with my credit card. I tapped and was done. I wished her a great day and left. I love Pure Leaf. It's nice that the lemon version has no sugar in it. It was cold and yummy as lemon iced tea. I'm glad that I stopped by to get my tea fix. (234)

Tip: Collect Scene+ points towards discounts on your future groceries…read more Last night, I had dinner at Edo Japan. Once I was done, I needed to get some fruit and drinks. I saw this Sobeys store across the vast parking lot. Perfect! I drove over to this supermarket and parked fairly close to the main entrance. I walked in. There were shopping carts and baskets. I decided not to get either. I was only picking up a few items. I love going into a supermarket that I've never visited. Trying to figure out where things are and discovering awesome finds make me happy. It happened here. I loved seeing cranberries. It made me think of making sangria, but I can't from my hotel room. Ugh! It was cool seeing figs in trays. Yum! I found cut-up fruit. There were a few containers that were discounted by $2. I took two of them. The prepared foods made me drool. Quiche. Lasagna. Ham and scalloped potatoes. Everything looked amazing. I got a pack of three beef empanadas. They looked good. I looked at beverages. There were Pepsi one-litre bottles going for $1.33 each. It's decent price-wise. I got a few. I lined up at an express checkout. I got a nice woman who asked if I needed a bag. I waived it off at first. However, since I had donated a few dollars towards a local cause that Sobeys was supporting, I got a big paper bag for free. I paid for my goods and made my donation with a credit card. I tapped and was good. She also scanned my Scene+ card. She asked if I wanted to redeem my points towards a $10 discount on my goods. I was good continuing to amass points. This woman bagged all my items. She was great. I thanked her and grabbed my paper bag with my groceries. I put it in my rental vehicle and drove back to the hotel. I had cut-up honeydew melon back at my hotel room. It was yummy. No issues with freshness. I enjoyed shopping at this Sobeys. I'd do it again when I'm in the area. (473)

My disability makes shopping at Superstore impossible, its too big to walk for me, but this service allowed me to get decent groceries at decent prices (my income is limited due to disability). Now that they will only allow online ordering and pickup for those who pay online via credit card. Being on disability means I cannot get a credit card, so this service is no longer available for me. I am very disappointed in Superstore, and upset that a service I have been using for a year now has been taken away simply by them refusing to take cash and insisting on credit cards.
