When I moved to Brussels six months ago, I didn't really search for a doctor, because "Haha, I'm not planning to get sick here, haha". Well I did get sick. And searching for a doctor in a foreign country (which is my second home now) when you do not know the medical system, is a tough thing to do.
Luckily, my colleague suggested I visit Dr. DeCock, who speaks perfectly English and his office is opened every day from 17:00 to 20:30, which is very convenient.
I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room, the doctor greeted me, shook my hand (unimportant detail, I know, but well, that has never happened to me) and suggested a mild treatment before we resort to antibiotics. He informed me thoroughly on how my situation looks and what is the probable development. He gave me all the certificates I needed, understood very quickly that I do not take part in any national health insurance scheme (EU employees bla bla bla...) and I was gone back to bed in 10 minutes. A very welcome help in an uneasy situation. read more
