They are great at handling your belongings, they are experts when it comes to packagings them to minimize the damages. Id suggest you be very careful when scheduling too many pick ups or deliveries. They suddenly emailed me that they will be charging me $69 per hour per driver. This was not explained to me when I signed up, one of their managers was kind enough to allow me to have one final deliver of my entire apartment. Either way what they did to me wasn't all that fair. I had never heard of them, but needed to store a bunch of things that don't quite fit in the house I am moving to. I can across Clutter, thought I'd give it a try, and couldn't have been happier with my experience. For starters, they come to your house, wrap, and move in their own truck all of your items. Their online tools are great for seeing your stuff and having them bring you back any specific item you might want. Their customer service is surprisingly amazing. I was continually making adjustments and changes to what I intended to store. You could do almost anything online. But if you ever ran into trouble - you could email, and receive a prompt, professional, friendly, and informative reply - in what seemed like less than an hour for the 5 times I emailed. And often within minutes. My movers - Leonel and Jamond were also really great. I received text alerts for when they were on their way. They were professional, friendly, efficient - and packed and moved my stuff better than I would have packed and moved it myself. We ran into an issue with one of my appliances - where the manual's instructions for how to drain it didn't work. Rather than simply say "We can't take this" or have taken it with water in it - they looked up on the Internet for other ways people have solved the problem. The warehouse packed their first trip which was me in the very front of the truck which is why it took 48 minutes they had to unload everything in the truck to remove my things. They lost the complaint I filled for a credit like magic PUFF I was not paying the bill until they found the complaint. They did nothing and charged me a $ 46.00 late fee. I paid my final month and went online to schedule my last ever business with them. Now they want me to sign paperwork which does not show the entire document. They told me I could speak with their tech department to fix their form issue!!! This is paperwork I need to sign for them to release my personal belonings. 10-10-2020 Update to Original Post Sirena at Clutter (manger) contacted me to attempt to work with me to resolve this issue, and she was nice and good to work with. After sending some additional photos and a phone conversation, my claim was adjusted to a level we feel we have to live with and also accepting the fact that we aren't going to receive anything more. All in all, we are still disappointed that we had items damaged and that the money we received is not enough to replace them all... but, it's better than clutters original offer. The clutter process was overall good and convenient, just so disappointed with the damage. My advice is to make sure you take great care with high cost items and possible move them yourself or have them spend exorbitant time packing/wrapping/etc. Bottom line is the most you will ever receive is $2500 for damage - so keep this in mind when decided which items to have them pack / store / move. Original Post: Clutter packed my LA apartment, full of high end furnishings. Had my items in storage for 6 months, when I had them returned to my new home in Orange County there was extensive damage. Paid for the full extent of their insurance coverage (max $2500), now clutter is trying to pay pennies on the dollar. Filed claims through appropriate channels, my claims are in excess of $5,000 - Clutter is trying to pay about half of what my max insurance allows them to pay. I provided photos, invoices for what I paid, comparable items with pricing as I was instructed. I have fully been taken advantage of. I asked to speak to claims dept. to address this situation, and was told my claim had been reopened and that Clutter would contact me within 48-72 hours to resolve - that was over 1 week ago - no contact. If you value your furnishings and hard earned, hard paid for belongings - don't use Clutter - if your belongings are damaged they won't pay to replace them and will try to take advantage of you - even if you pay for full insurance. Example - I have a bed frame from west elm that I paid around $2K for - Clutter scratched it on nearly every leg - it was 6-8 months new when they packed it themselves before storing it (which I also paid for, of course) and they offered me $100 for the damage they did..... stay away! read more

At first I was in love with the concept of clutter: a flat monthly fee to store my clutter and have a free pick up at a free delivery and a temperature safe controlled warehouse where my items would be stored in their own space safe from harm - and if my items weren't safe they would be replaced or I would have a replacement check. None of that is true! Complete fraud. Every single delivery back to my house has delivered a broken item or someone else's item. Yes, you could call and complain to their customer service line as they suggest and several of the responses on the site, but the customer service team is not in power to help you, replace your item or give you full value for replacement cost. They can't even explain how your items are stored or why they broke in the first place. I can. They break because these guys as several other reviews state, are not professional Packers. I even interviewed a few: minimal training and mostly intermediary jobs for the non-professional . CLUTTER IS AN APP NOT A PROFESSIONAL MOVING SERVICE. The latest breakage from Clutter was a $1200 lamp delivered in pieces, in a box with packing I actually paid for after being assured by customer care and the movers that morning that the upmost care would be taken in the packing and storage of my Tiffany lamp. All lies. Today I will get five dollars for that lamp because that's how much it weighs. I've also investigated the UCC rules and regulations for companies such as Clutter and they have violated numerous provisions in their veiled attempt to operate as a certain business. I fear for writing my review because I actually still have some valuable antiques still stored with this company that I can never replace because they are generational gifts. My mistake. You are much better off with a local moving company and using a local storage shed even if it is not the most convenient. read more

Beware of this company. The monthly rates are alarmingly low because the profit is derived elsewhere. To store your items with Clutter, they must be packed a certain way. And by certain, I mean crazy. Environmentally wasteful. Strange. Stupid. So. Stuff in boxes is fine, but anything, literally, anything else will be wrapped in blankets, plastic and masking tape. By the Clutter team. Or they wont store it. Don't want your ottoman wrapped in five layers of masking tape and plastic? Too bad! Clutter wrapped my kitchen table in plastic and a blanket. Same for chairs. And a chest of drawers. And a couch. And a footstool. And the rickety bathroom shelving I've attached photos of. Here's the catch: you pay them an hourly rate for the labor and can't decline it. You pay for the time they spend wrapping non-fragile items in plastic. I'm for real. I arranged to store items from a one-bedroom apartment with them. I self-packed everything into boxes. I labeled everything. I organized every box into room-specific piles. Then, Clutter took over 5 hours, at $300/hr, to wrap things like a rolled up rug into a blanket sealed with plastic and tape. Total cost to pick up items I'd already packed into boxes: around $1700. Again, for a one-bedroom apartment. No appliances. No big heavy items. Boxes and basic furniture. Over five hours! $1700! To pick this shit up! That's before it was even stored! Fast forward to the drop off. They don't take the plastic off for you--if you want that to happen, you again pay the hourly labor rate (around $300). If you ask them to leave the plastic on so you don't have to pay the labor, you are charged for the blankets they used to wrap the stuff in. About $5/blanket. There were about 30 blankets wrapped around my stuff. Including a floor rug. I went ten rounds with this company trying to understand how this could possibly be right. I am now out approximately $2000. I stored my items with them for about 2.5 weeks (after the initial $1700 charge, I couldn't afford to keep them in storage any longer). Take a look at the photos I've attached. This is the packing and plastic labor you pay $300/hr for. I'm waiting for someone to call me and tell me this is an elaborate joke, but instead, I'm left feeling utterly confused and frustrated. This was one of the worst costumer service experiences I've had. I have some mobility issues and explained time and time again that I wouldn't be able to unwrap the stuff myself, that I didn't want the plastic in the first place, and that I couldn't pay them $300/hr to take the plastic off. They wouldn't budge from the hourly rate. I am f***ed! I did manage to get them to knock off $180, so I guess that's something. Guess what? Some of the stuff wrapped in plastic is broken. Other stuff is missing. I am . . . in the Twilight Zone. read more
