The jury is still out. Super quick consultation, pending surgery in 45 days. I will update once I'm post-op. I'm hoping for the best.

Clover Podiatry is a well run office with minimal waiting. Dr. Fish is very competent and has done a great job with my podiatry needs.

In my early 50's, and my feet have never bothered me except for two times: Once when I was 17 working in a warehouse, walking around on concrete all day in converse. Another time working a janitorial job in a school (20k steps a day) and again last summer working in a retail store (20k steps a day). By the end of the day I'd be hobbling when getting out of my car at the end of my shifts. I tried fancier shoes and some of those Dr. Scholls inserts, and they seemed to help very temporarily, but nothing lasting. Even saw my doctor who wasn't able to offer me much except a referral to PT and NSAIDs. I skipped it because I did that a few years earlier w/ a shoulder, and didn't have great luck. Decided to do a google maps search and see someone local who does nothing but feet, who could see the kind of feet that I have, and what I should do about them. Dr. Brandi was able to quickly assess and make recommendations followed up with an email with several links for shoes, slippers, sandals, and shoe inserts. I bought 3 of the inserts she recommended to use in shoes I currently have, plus a great pair of slip on house shoes, and now my feet feel amazing!!! I had been thinking about going to that good feet store they keep advertising on TV constantly and I'm so glad I didn't. This was the most affordable option by far.

And with every single doctor I saw, I asked if they could just remove the toenail and they all responded to me like I was asking if they could just remove my foot! The specialist told me that my toenail would basically never attach to the nail bed again. I decided to try one more doctor and thank goodness it was Dr. Bowen! I told him the saga of my toenail and then mentioned the responses to me asking if it could just be removed. He immediately said that removing it sounded like a good idea and he asked if I wanted to do it right then. I practically screamed YESSSSS!!! Within minutes, that pesky thing was off and my sweet toe could start anew. Cut to: it's two years later and I have had a beautiful, fungus-free toenail for a year and a half! It grew back perfectly. I'm so grateful to Dr. Bowen - not only is he kind, funny, and professional, he actually listened to me. For me personally, that is one of the most important things a doctor can do.

This disregard for other people's schedules is not tolerated in other professions... lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, therapists. Not sure why it should be in the medical field. (I made my appointment for a Monday morning specifically so I wouldn't have to wait because of an overly scheduled day.)

A deep, aggressive melanoma invaded my heel and the surgeon took a lot of my heel off, like 60%. After surgery I was eventually shipped off to wound care (that's another review) where they started the process of getting my body to naturally fill the gaping hole in with a wound vacuum. Eventually, as the hole filled it was time to start thinking about the end game, getting walking on the heel again. Wound care suggested I contact Dr. Justin Tidwell at Legacy Foot and Ankle, he knew about this type of procedure. The very next week I found myself on the second floor of the medical center next to the hospital in his waiting room. Dr. Tidwell walked in and unwrapped my bandages and took one look and said, "No problem, we can cover that up." Simple as that. His staff is wonderful, really caring and confident, like Dr. Tidwell. I went back several times to get the skin graft set but then I came down with an infection and a hospital stay (not his fault) which put off the graft until this massive nasty infection was cleared up. Eventually we were ready to pull the trigger. We did the circle jerk dance with my insurance company but eventually they granted me the synthetic skin graft. One office visit, less than 25 minutes, some synthetic skin and a steri-strips and orders to continue to stay off it and I was out the door. As of this writing I am still sitting with my foot up in the air mostly, but so far so good. Talking to people in the waiting room they couldn't say enough good things about Dr. Tidwell whether you were getting reconstruction, ingrown toe nails fixed, skin grafts, it didn't matter he got high marks. I am ready to get my life back and it is happening a heck of a lot quicker thanks to Dr. Tidwell and his staff. Obviously being in a hospital complex handicapped access gets an automatic A++.

I absolutely adore Dr. Wenzel, she saved my foot. I was sent to her by peace health wound care…read morebecause I had a big open wound on my right foot and they thought I had a bone infection. The doctors at wound care were urging me to go back to Rebound as well where they wanted to cut my foot up some more. They were telling me that I wasn't going to heal but I didn't believe that, I've always seen myself walking again. So I went to Dr. Wenzel with a possible bone infection and she basically said that she was skeptical that it was a bone infection and she wanted to wait and see how I healed because apparently if you do have an infection your wounds don't close and there would be obvious signs of the infection, my foot looked great the whole time and was healing week by week and getting smaller. So we waited. The doctors at wound care were very condescending and acted like I was an idiot and that Wenzel didn't know what she was talking about, they really wanted me to get my foot cut off and were baffled that she didn't wanna do surgery, she wasn't so quick to cut me up, she's a smart woman, a smart doctor, she knows what bone infections look like, she operates on them all the time so I trusted her opinion, I trusted my gut and here I am a year later completely healed and just starting to walk. Thank God for Dr. Wenzel who believed in me from the beginning. And shout out to Dr. Adams as well, Ankle & Foot is a great practice with great doctors.

After waiting for over an hour past my scheduled time he came in asked a few questions pressed on my already incredibly painful heel drew a giant X on my foot & told me I needed cortisone. I told him no, I had one done 6weeks ago & it didn't work & I was not going through that pain again for something that doesn't work. I told him I was there for him to sign off on an MRI which had already been discussed by a different provider in the practice (who sadly has moved out of state). Dr. Hayes clearly didn't want to order the MRI instead telling me to rub Voltaren cream on my foot 4x a day for 3 weeks come back & then we'll discuss another cortisone injection. I had to call almost every day to pester him to sign the MRI Orders...it took him 2 weeks to finally do it & that's only because his staff finally drove out to his other office & made him sign it. I had to call again a week after my MRI to see if he'd even gotten the results, I was told they arrived but he had not looked at them yet. After asking multiple times for my records I finally got them & all my prior visits were charted but 6 weeks, yes 6weeks after my Feb 26 visit he still has not written chart notes, it's April 9. He is by far the worst doctor I've ever seen & I will not be going back.
