The speech teacher alone is worth your kid attending, Mr. Manning pushes kids out of their comfort zone and celebrates their successes with them. It's amazing to watch, really. All of the teachers genuinely care about the students and the administration is assertive and kind. Best decision I've made for my family in a long time.

At ACS, he ask to go to school, even on the weekends. We get reports sent home every Friday on his progress. We get pictures on the school app (ClassDojo) from his teacher. He has a very challenging curriculum, even in PK. He has grown so much since starting ACS and we have seen a big difference in his vocabulary and confidence. Some teachers are great and some have zero personality. My child seemed to get hurt alot outside…read moreon playground area. They need to get rid of concrete on playground. I personally just do not think its safe for kids to be playing with a lot of other kids on the concrete area. The director was never friendly with our family - they have received a new one now and hopefully she will be better. BE aware that it is very expensive - you are looking at paying any where from 250 to 280 dollars a week. I am not sure it is worth that when most teachers just let the kids play all day vs teaching them something that will get them ready for Kindergarten.

We had a very bad experience at this school. Charter schools are not subject to the same…read morerequirements and oversight as regular public schools, but this is only a good thing if the school is run by committed, thoughtful administrators and teachers. When the founder of this school retired, the Board (which consists of people who are questionably qualified and capable of running a school) ushered in a very traditional, rigid administration. The school changed so fast we nearly got whiplash -- gone were all the things that made it a wonderful alternative to traditional public school, like block scheduling, outdoor experiential learning, student-led clubs, student responsibility for the physical maintenance of the building, and individualized instruction. The school even expanded and opened a 5th grade classroom, which meant that elementary school children were mixed in with middle school and high school students - a recipe for disaster on so many levels. It also made the school very crowded.
