After speaking with Dr. Shank's office personnel, I was informed that if it has been more than 2 years, they no longer guarantee their work and would require for me to pay 1100.00 to fix it. So it looks like I am out of luck in getting the crown fixed which was placed incorrectly in May 2022 and was just never noticed the new X-rays revealed it. Very disappointed with the lack of accountability and ownership of the practice's error. I do not recommend Northside Family Dentistry.

After I told him what I went through he said we could fit you in his busy schedule for a post op checkup in two days! That was a long time after what I had been through! So, I went for my appt. showing up 30 minutes early, thinking I could get seen faster, only to get the hint of what seemed like I was just a nuisance. When I see him, he takes x-rays and says everything looked great and I was feeling phantom pains. Pretty strong phantom pains, I say, and I do not agree and feel like there is still something wrong! I tell him I feel this tooth when I touch it and I feel my heartbeat in it and I do not want a crown on top of a problem! He then sees another tooth needing fixed and he says we can help for another $6700.00 on top of the $3000.00 for a root canal and crown and the hospital visit and the time off work! So, I tell him I cannot afford to use him, and I did not trust him anymore and to please reimburse me for the second half which was still two weeks away! They got very upset and started yelling at me, causing me emotional distress on top of everything else, because times are hard and money is not easy for people working for a living right now! They then told me, "The crown has already been ordered and I would be paying for it!" With a Very snotty tone! So,I then went to another dentist who confirmed what I was experiencing was due to either dirty tools or not cleaning out all the debris and i had to get that tooth removed! The next year I go in and say it's getting bad, can we go ahead and fill it? she says no, we'll just have to do a root canal when you come back in. I've done lots of research on root canal's and I'd never have that done. So it gets abscess and I was in terrible pain, I healed the abscess with oil of oregano. Then my tooth totally splits in half, so I had to go to a surgeon yesterday to have it pulled out and bone graph done. What's the point in doing annual maintenance visits if the dentist is going to ignore the issues until it becomes a problem?! It's because they make thousands off of root canals and hundreds from filling a cavity, they're all in it for the money and could care less about the health of you and your teeth!

I first had a tooth pulled and she chipped one tooth next to it. Also, I had pain in a tooth and continued to go back for treatment. They said my upper teeth needed to be filed down. I went back 3 times and then made a decision to get another opinion. I went to Dr Hayes in Cookeville and immediately they found I had major decay under that tooth so it had to be removed. They also didn't catch the major decay on the other side of my mouth. It was very expensive work to have done but thankful that I was able to find Dr. Hayes. It is very scary when you think they are doing a good job and then you find out that they made a major mistake.
