For our first pregnancy, my husband and I weren't really sure what to expect. We really trusted our OB practice, but wanted to ensure that our birth experience was a positive one and that we were doing all we could to help bring our little one into this world as comfortably (for her and myself) as possible. I really wanted to feel like we were supported in our hope for a natural birth, while still having the security of medical attention should things not go as planned. I knew a doula would likely be a good option, but my husband wanted to be sure that he was still a my rock and that we felt comfortable with someone we didn't know being a part of such an intimate moment in our lives. Upon beginning my search for a doula, I came across Cloud Nine, and was really impressed by their online presence and immediate response to all of my concerns. Tina helped put my mind at ease, and it was one of her top priorities to include my husband and reassure him that he was my #1. Once we met with Tina and Kelsey, we hired them right away, and I had two people I trusted to answer my prenatal questions and reassure me as we got closer to the big day. I went into labor 3 weeks early, and my Type A self was not mentally prepared for that. Kelsey was the doula on schedule for the day and was so great at responding promptly, giving my husband and I time to ourselves, but also arriving to the hospital as we requested. My labor was a whirlwind, but it was perfect. I cannot imagine (and neither can my husband) doing it without Kelsey - she was so patient, calm, and supportive - I think we likely would have accepted pain medication and other medical support if we hadn't had her there with us. With Kelsey as a part of our team, we knew we were in good hands because she knows birth so well. All in all, we were able to have the birth we'd hoped for and have a precious baby girl who is healthy and happy. read more

There simply aren't enough words to describe how amazing Meg and Teri are and how positively they impacted our birth journey. I am so grateful to them, I feel like I owe them a debt. I had such a long labor and delivery that I actually had BOTH Teri and Meg be with me and my husband. From my initial meetings I knew that Cloud Nine was the perfect fit for us. Teri And Meg were very communicative before labor (I met them virtually around 24 weeks) and were always available to me via text leading up to labor. I appreciated their support and explanation of the process and expectations. They always answered my questions openly and truthfully. During my labor I relied heavily on their emotional and also physical support. Since the birth of our son didn't go "to plan" (what birth ever does?) I was able to talk through the interventions with Teri, and she made me feel validated, heard and confident in all my decision making. When Teri's shift ended, and Meg's began us when I started to dilate and Meg used many important techniques and tricks to ease my pain and keep me grounded. My husband also relied on their expertise and support, since this was our first time having a baby too. In addition to having Meg and Teri present during labor, I also had Meg and Chaka come and help me postpartum and at night a few times. Their presence, support, kindness and empathy truly helped me get through that very difficult postpartum healing stage. I can't even begin to describe the wonderful service and experience I had with Kelsey and Tina!! After having 3 traumatic birthing experiences in the past, I knew that going into my 4th I wanted as much help and support as I could get. Leading up to my delivery these ladies provided excellent education, comfort, and preparation. They eased my anxieties and helped me feel more excited and less scared about the process. Kelsey was with me during my labor, and she was there from start to finish. This was my longest labor yet, and she showed me tools that helped me SO much. I can only have inductions, so all of my other deliveries I've been confined to a bed and have just gone along with the rollercoaster of interventions that the hospital saw fit at any given time. This time, even though I was still induced, I was able to walk, utilize a birthing ball, take a shower, use heat packs and even got massages :) Kelsey kept me calm, focused, and helped me SO much in feeling like I truly had a voice in my own labor experience. Postpartum, Kelsey continued to check in and made sure I was transitioning to being home well, helped me with breastfeeding questions and came over to see how we were all doing. This was the most positive and uplifting experience I've ever had, and it was 100% due to these two women. Kelsey will forever be a friend to our family, and I am just SO thankful I met her and Tina. The second I got pregnant, I knew I wanted to use a doula. I had found Cloud Nine on Facebook and quickly set up a call which is when I met Meg. My husband didn't know much about doulas at the time but after the call he was as convinced as I was. I immediately felt validated with our birth preferences and knew that Meg and Teri would support us in any avenue we took. At 30 weeks my baby was still transverse so Meg showed us spinning babies techniques to help him get into position. I did my spinning babies every night and was happy when he turned head down. We continued spinning babies up until he was born. At 36 weeks my water broke in the middle of the night and I immediately called Teri. She answered the phone right away and told me what to expect when we got to the hospital. Once we were ready for her she was there without hesitation. I feel lucky that I was able to have both Meg and Teri's support during the laboring process. Both of them provided not only physical but emotional support to both myself and my husband. Teri helped me through my epidural and Meg through transition. When my baby was still too high to push, Meg helped get me into so many different positions. It was her expertise and the use of the peanut ball that finally got him into position for us to push. Meg and Teri were so supportive of every aspect of my birthing experience. I truly could not imagine it without them. I would recommend Cloud Nine to any person who is considering a doula!!! read more

Hiring Tina as our birth doula was one of the best decisions my wife and I made. She met us at the hospital about 15 minutes after we arrived, and she was by our side for the next 20+ hours through what ended up being a long, arduous labor. From the moment Tina arrived, she was helping in some way and she never stopped... educating us on what we could expect, rubbing oils on my wife's back, advising and coaching me on how to help her through the difficult times, helping and coaching my wife in positions that would support and advance the labor process, and the list goes on. And throughout it all, Tina's serving heart and positive light beamed. She was constantly giving encourangemnt and affirmation. She was extremely knowledgable in what we could do to advance the labor and ease my wife's pain and discomfort. She never pushed an agenda on us, but was always ready to educate us so that we were prepared to make the best decisions for the health and safety of our baby. Having her by our side made the entire experience less scary. I cannot imagine what the process would have been like without her. She brought a peace to the room that we would not have had otherwise. Meg and Kelsey are a great team of doulas! I contracted their services at about 32 weeks. They were friendly and attentive throughout the consult, 1st and 2nd birth meetings. When I found out from the hospital (Feb 3, 2020, pandemic) that I would be induced early for an unplanned C-Section, Meg and Kelsey were supportive and calm. Meg, being in the hospital with me, helped me make one of the most difficult decisions I would have to make. Her experience and levity helped me feel confident that a C-section was the right choice given the circumstances. Before, during, and after the surgery, Meg walked me through each step and when I couldn't see what was going on with baby, she described it, which was infinitly comforting. Knowing I was not allowed to have another support person after she left (pandemic rules), she stayed while I stabilized, met baby, and was situated in my hospital bed. Even after she left the hospital, she was attentive to my needs (that I didn't know I had!) and advocated for me and explained options for seeing my baby in NICU and caring for him. I am so glad I chose such a stellar team to help me give birth to my petit prince! read more

They walked me through several options for our birth plan and were there for me during the unexpected situations that came up. Doula Meg was amazing to work with! The in home consults to get to know more about you, your family, and your plan showed how much she truly cares about your wishes & what you are hoping for. Meg made it a point to check in throughout the pregnancy, make sure all questions were answered, and be available if she was needed. Throughout the labor she was sending me recommendations to do on my own. When it came time to come to the hospital she came with a plan, exercises to do, and did not hesitate to start as soon as she arrived. Within thirty minutes of her arrival during an exercise, my water broke, she continued to help coach me through contractions while also switching exercises to help. She knew exactly what positions we needed to do to help baby descend and engage, and in less than three hours from water breaking he made his arrival! I truly credit her plan, exercises, and expertise in helping the labor go so smoothly and quickly! read more

Meg and Teri at cloud nine were both! They were both super nice and informative and never judgmental. They will support you no matter how you choose to deliver your child or what you want or don't want done afterwards. They were always available to answer any questions i had via text or email. Meg was preset for the birth of my baby boy and she was absolutely fabulous! She helped with switching into different positions every 30 minutes to help my labor progress and when it was discovered that my baby was "sunny side up" she knew exactly the position to get into in order to spin him around and it worked!!! (Although it was probably one of the most uncomfortable positions for me and I had to do it on both my left and right side, it was worth it to get his to spin around the right way.) She also took a few pics of the labor and delivery process, which was appreciated. 10/10 would recommend! I will def be coming back for baby #2! read more

I couldn't be happier with my doula, Kelsey. She is so passionate about what she does! She met me very close to my home so we could talk about my wishes and birth plan etc. She made it so easy to meet with her (I already has 3 little ones at home so this was much appreciated). She was always a text or phone call away when I had a question or needed to talk. She attended my daughters birth and helped me through the pain that is childbirth. She supported my choices and always gave me helpful information to go on. My husband hurt his back right before I went into labor, so I was extremely grateful to have her by my side, walking the halls and laboring through painful contractions. She was so calm and collected. She even took pictures of my labor and sent them to me. She's a very talented photographer as well! I will forever cherish those moments. This was my second experience with Meg and a doula at my birth and I can honestly say that I have no clue how someone delivers without their support! My little guy was breach from about 32 to 38 weeks and Meg, Teri, and the Cloud Nine team gave me TONS of resources to help. Everything from a detailed discussion and videos from "spinning babies" to recommending a Webster method chiropractor, they had my back the entire time. He ended up flipping just shy of 38 weeks! At my induction, he was stubborn yet again and Meg was able to help him get into position while simultaneously letting me rest up for delivery (#madskills). Honestly, I cannot say enough about these amazing women. They helped keep me calm and informed through the nerves and anxiety of a complex pregnancy and delivery. Do you ever meet people and just know it's a good fit? That was Meg and Teri for us. Meg was my first call when I started looking for a doula and honestly... she was my last call. After talking with her, I knew I wanted her and Teri on my birth team. I have never been happier with a decision. I was hoping for a VBAC and Meg and Teri supported me throughout my entire pregnancy with suggestions on chiropractic care, prenatal massage, and spinning babies exercises. It all worked in my favor and I got my VBAC! Meg was such an amazing support person the day of my labor and delivery. She was a calm and comforting presence in the delivery room. I had Meg and Teri at my birth and they were both incredible. I attempted a homebirth and Meg & Teri were both so supportive and knowledgeable. They were so excited for me that it made me actually look forward to labor. Once the day finally arrived I ended up having a very tough labor. Meg and Teri both suggested different positions to labor in to try to get baby into the right position. I felt so supported physically and emotionally during the whole experience. I had to transfer at 26 hours and Teri was with me at the hospital all night. I still had the birth outcome/experience I wanted and I attribute so much of it to Meg and Teri both being so knowledgeable in birth.
