The one on her belly had grown and I was hoping to book her in for surgery to have it removed. The vet took her into a room, does an exam on her and tells me this is a very unhealthy dog...he wanted to do x-rays. After that was done, he brings me into a room to show me the pictures...he tells me her heart and liver are very inflammed. He recommended I have needle biopsies done to see what the lumps are...he suspects Cancer...couldn't tell me enough that my dog was very sick. I left her with him to get the biopsies done. After spending $800.00 on biopsies, he calls me to come get her and tells me the results were inconclusive. I brought her home and she was so out of it, she couldn't lift her head. I thought she was going to die..I rushed her to an emergency vet who hooked her up to IV right away..she was EXTREMELY dehydrated. I told him about her X-ray...he said her heart sounds fine...it's not something he would have considered even looking at..he was confused as to why the needle biopsies were even done...especially on her mammary glands considering she had just finished her heat cycle. I took her back to her regular vet...I had moved and it was a bit of a drive...but at this point I was confused. Turns out they were pretty confused too. Her heart and liver were HEALTHY!! She had her tummy lump removed...it biopsied clear of Cancer. This office took me for a few thousand dollars and HURT MY DOG!! MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS JULIEGAMBLE618@GMAIL.COM if you want to reach out and talk to me about what happened. As far as I'm concerned you owe me the money I gave you AND the money for the emergency vet after you almost killed my dog!

During…read morethe past two years he has provided quality care for our very senior Basset Hound Dutchess and our two wiener dogs Frank & Bella. There are no words to express how thankful we are for his help in making our farewell to Dutchess as peaceful & beautiful as possible. From the time he and his colleague Amanda arrived at our home, they were completely professional but genuinely caring. We had expressed our wishes to Dr Walia regarding Dutchess and our hope for her passing peacefully at home. Oct. 22, 2018 Dr Walia came to our home to help us follow through on that promise, his strength and compassion was what got us through such a difficult time. Dr Walia is the "True Essence" of a vet and we highly recommend him and his staff to anyone with a fur baby. God bless you Dr. Walia and thank you once again. Al & Donna Ramelan

I won't work with clinics that have their names sold to corporate entities and charge exorbitant prices with no conscience. I wanted small, well-led, friendly, efficient but mostly, empathetic staff. I'm a senior with a few issues and not a lot of money, and my babies have aged with me. But this clinic, Dr. Anna and Staff, have always worked with my heart and mind, and given me sound, well-founded and also compassionate advice as they held my hand through what we all knew were the palliative days for my little guy. And every reason why not and every reason why to loaded with love. I'm well experienced in these devastating occasions and I can say that in this day and age of the post pandemic "Karen", this clinic has gone above and beyond for our special babies and family in an old-fashioned caring way. I will stay with a clinic that appears to have solid leadership and time to care, with no overhead corporate pressure. Bless all of you.

She broke it 3 weeks ago while we were very far from home. Yesterday we went in for a follow up appointment. Normally we see Dr. Weir and have on occasion seen Dr. Kelsick. Both have provided us with good care in the past, and I have no complaints. Yesterday we saw an entirely different vet whom I have never met and cannot find on their website, but who went by the name Dr. Meredith. This vet TOLD me she would be giving my dog a sedative (She did not ask) so that they could take an xray. I informed her that this wouldn't be necessary. The other vet was able to do an xray at the time of the break with some treats and TLC, but it took a bit more time. Her response was less than enthusiastic, but she said they would try. I timed how long they were out of the room "trying" to take this xray. It was about 6 minutes from the time she left the room with my dog and came back. Upon her return she informed me of the following: "Hi! So there is just no possible way to get the xray without sedating (puppy). So we have given her a light dose of a sedative, just to relax her a bit. It will take 10 minutes for it to kick in. Once we have the image we will show you how its healing." ^ this is NOT a request for consent. I am absolutely livid that the clinic would drug my dog without my consent. We walk to the vet. Its like, 2 minutes away by foot. It took us about 10 minutes to get home yesterday because she couldn't walk properly. It took her 4, almost 5 hours to stop experiencing the strongest parts of the reaction to the medication. My loving, enthusiastic, excitable puppy was on the couch panting uncontrollably with dilated pupils, holding my foot drifting in and out of consciousness with a pool of drool under her mouth, unable to hold her head up consistently for 4 hours because this vet didn't want to take an extra few minutes to work with her to take the xray. I had to call the clinic back about 2 hours later to find out what they had given her because her reaction was so unsettling. Not only was this experience atrocious, but upon exiting the clinic I informed the support staff that I would like Dr. Weir to call me because we would not be returning, and I would like to explain why. It has been 22 hours since our visit, and Dr. Weir has not called. We have since made an appointment at another vet clinic that was recommended to us by a friend. I would not take your animal here unless it is an emergency, and even then I would heavily suggest being prepared for them to ignore your preferred treatment plan.

The team here is so caring and empathetic. But also importantly, they're professional and this is a well-run clinic in terms of getting in to appointments on time, getting timely reminders, and so forth. I think, in terms of their commitment to service excellence and pet care, they are the best in the city. Would very highly recommend!

They are absolutely fabulous here. From those at the front desk, to the Vets. Dr Fleming is always going out of her way for everyone with an animal issue. any time I see someone with a concern about their pets on our groups she's always there offering her support or advice. She does this in her own time. I'll bet usually when she's watching TV with her family, or she's suppose to be sleeping. She doesn't profit from it in anyway other than the passion she gets from helping pets. Just the other week she was in Paris on vacation with her family and I sent her an email looking for a second opinion on something and she not only responded, she requested the medical findings and records so she could look them over and help me make the right choice. Again, while on vacation, in Paris, with her family. she'll give it to you straight, whether you agree or not is up to you. She is one of the most heartfelt people I have ever met and we are beyond fortunate to have her looking after our pets. You get what you pay for. They don't cut corners on medical testing, or advice. They arnt just going to throw meds at your pet and hope it fixes the issue- They do it right. I have dealt with many of the people up front, vet techs, vets, they are all amazing. No matter who you see here, you'll be treated well. Thank you so much Guelph Animal Hospital for everything you do
