This tour didn't disappoint and I was overjoyed that they had two separate groups, one in English and one in Spanish. Our tour guide, Alonzo was amazing. He seemed very passionate about the history of his country while keeping the group engaged and entertained. He explained some of the cultural things we would see during our travels such as lots of public displays of affection especially in parks or the cafes with legs. I enjoyed the variety of neighborhoods and attractions we visited. The informative history and treatment of Chileans. He strongly recommended visiting the Museum of memory and human rights which I did and it was very eye opening. I loved that we took the subway and I was able to see how the underground transportation worked. I used the trains throughout my travels in Santiago which was very user-friendly. Our tour ended at a local bar where we had a small taste of local wine. Our guide hung around for a few minutes and answered questions. You always meet fellow travelers from all over the world including your home area. I always "tip" the suggested amount or more because their service is always worth that and more! If you're in that Santiago area, definitely check out their morning and/or afternoon tours. You won't be disappointed.

We ended up using "Free Walking Tour Santiago" (red shirts) but would have gladly used this company also. Several times, we crossed paths and noticed they follow the same itinerary and both companies use guides with excellent English skills.

The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to answer any and all questions. FYI, most tourist attractions are closed on Monday, you might be better served to plan something else than going to museums, and riding the gondola on a Monday. The buses were clean, the recording that you listen to, comes in a variety of languages and is extremely boring and useless. I've been on various bus tours in other cities with a live tour guides and it makes a world of difference, imho. We flew into town at 7:30 am and needed something to do until the hotel room was ready. Why not get the lay of the land, relatively cheaply with a hop on hop off bus tour, it drops you off at the most popular tourist spots. The overall length of bus tour without getting off is about 2 1/2 hours depending on traffic. Public Banos are few and far between, so take advantage when around one :-). Overall I give it 3.5 stars, but round it up to 4 because all 5 of the employees I interacted with, did an excellent job.

Ok so I found this tour company through yahoo and couldn't find it on yelp. I wanted a private tour…read morebecause I feel like I can ask personal questions about the tour without being rushed. I choose the Santiago tour and winery first because I wanted to explore the and at the same drink some wine. Now here's what's cool my flight got delayed from Mexico city to Santiago and I had already booked w chili dream tours and was afraid I was going to loose my money. I emailed and called and the tour coordinator Sean easily made the adjustment and rescheduled us. Points for flexibility. So I arrive into Santiago and we begin the tour. Sean the tour guide pulls up in a large 7 passenger vehicle lots of space to relax. I was provided with a water and we went off into the city. Sean took us around the city of Santiago he's like walking Wikipedia this guy not only knew the history of the city he knew the city nightlife and gave great suggestions on where to go and what to eat. So back to the tour I saw all the major spots Santiago had to offer - San Cristobal hill the mountain w statue of virgin Mary. Amazing views and photo ops of the city its a must. We then saw the city center and where the president lives the whole té Sean filled us up with so much history info I kind of felt like he should be working for the history chanel because he knew his sh$*. From there we traveled to the undurraga winery great tour where you got an overview of the process and you get to see all the equipment on what it takes to make this great tasting wine. And of course you get to drink wine at the end! With such a good experience that day I immediately booked another tour w Sean for the day after. Now extra points for this tour company. My freind got sick hours before we were supposed to take the tour and Sean was like no problem and rescheduled it! Wow 2 for 2 on this company for keeping the customers needs in mind. We finally was able to do the vina del mar /valparaiso / Casas del Bosque winery tour. We were able to travel to the coast and see the beaches cool thing about Sean he will give you options depending on what you like he will take you to those parts in the city we choose the casino and had about 30 min to kill and gamble, next off was valparaiso I really loved this part of the tour Sean took us in and out of the streets to see all the art and history of the city we stopped to eat at a restaurant. Cade turri w a view of the city and that was amazing as well as the food Omg. Last stop was the winery Casas del Bosque very beautiful place looks like a location you can maary someone or take on a great date. So all in all chile dream tours picks great locations, Sean is a great host who speaks fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese. They will even do custom tours! Be sure to call and ask for Sean and ask as many questions as possible he will have an answer except for coquitas and strawberries but he says he's looking into it lol.

We also walked further, experienced more and spent more time together. Worth it. This tour took us through some of the markets, a long walk through Parque Forestal and stops along the way for Mote Con Huesillo (a very refreshing peach drink), empanadas, ice cream, and a platter of shrimp, ceviche and beef tartare. Plenty of booze to drink including an excellent beer and wine. Along the tour, led by the very entertaining Samy, we saw the sights and some of the places that make up Santiago's culture including the park, the Cerro Santa Lucia, a few neat neighborhoods and ending up near Bellas Artes. There was no language barrier - she spoke excellent English.

If you are trying to decide which vineyard to visit to make your wine lover's retreat an epic one then Viña Montes must be #1 on your list! First, we started with lunch at the Montes restaurant, Bistro Alfredo since our tour reservation wasn't until 3 and we had two hours to kill. What a pleasant surprise!! We sat outside under a breezy umbrella and gazed at the vineyards beautiful mountainous landscape as we started off with glass of merlot and chardonnay and a cheese pairing. Then for lunch we had pork medallions and a chupe de jaiva (crab casserole thing) and both were AMAZING and full of rich taste! Great wine, food and Wifi was the best first stop we could have done before our tasting! So what about the tour? For 30,000 Chilean pesos ($42 for Americans since the exchange rate is great for us now), tantalize your taste buds with Montes best wines. What's your thing? carmenère, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, merlot, pino noir?? Whatever your vino "thing" is, Montes wines will not only satisfy but rock your vino world! First we took a very short tour of the vineyard on an open bus which was just okay. I would have liked to have been able to get off, touch the grapes and really get more immersed with the actual vineyard, but this was not offered as a part of the tour. Emmanuel (our tour guide) took us on a vino journey that allowed us to taste 4 premium wines and 2 of their icon wines: Montes Folly and Purple Angel. Emmanuel was very knowledgeable and provided us with a tasting 101 lesson on which wine to pair with which selection. And to top off Emmanuel's coolness factor, his servings were not only generous, but also allowed us to even have seconds (or until the bottles were empty) on our favorite wines from the tasting! If you are doing the icon wine tour, first you start your tour with those who are doing the premium tasting in a tasting area just outside the giant stainless steel and french oak vats! For the icon tour/tasting you are then taken to a private table in the damp barrel room where they house their icon selections while listening to Gregorian chants! The icon tour is a MUST!!! The Purple Angel and Folly tastings take you on an intense, elegant palate adventure that you will not want to miss! After these two tastings (both premium and icon), your relaxation levels will increase, your eye lids will start to feel heavy and you'll think to yourself, "Wow, this was way better than any spa day!"
