Cute, if overpriced and remote shop, with a decent selection of items in the store which one might…read morenot think to look for online. It's also just a pleasure to go somewhere with staff who adore this special program, and to experience other fans, especially kids, excitedly wandering around. I have no idea if the museum part of the shop is worth it; we were not allowed entry. The woman (I believe the owner) behind the counter was adamant that even though the museum was supposed to be open for another 15 minutes, it was not an option for us to pay and see it, even if only until it closed. We explained we'd been on a train for an hour and I had come from America. Her colleague was sympathetic but she was adamant and brusque. The shop wasn't even busy at the time at all. The museum is one room of memorabilia and props, it's not like we were going to hide inside a Dalek until the shop closed, snort some jelly babies and trash the place. We perused the gift shop a little more for the next few minutes. We then witnessed the owner joke to her colleague about how a disabled person walked after they had left the shop.

Now THIS is something I can appreciate. The Who Shop is well known in the nerd community as the…read moreplace to go to buy items related to "Doctor Who". The shop is a bit out of the way to get to (deliberately so, in fact, to prevent overwhelming foot traffic in a city that attracts numerous tourists), but if you're a Whovian and you're in the city or its surrounding neighborhoods, you MUST take the time to come and visit. The items in the shop are a lot of fun to browse (and hard to pick from if you have to fit everything into a suitcase!). Toys. Books. Clothes. Key chains. Posters. You name it, it's in here. And while you shop you can enjoy the autographed memorabilia that's everywhere on the walls and shelves - I particularly loved the autographed Master portrait and McCoy/McCann poster for the TV movie. Done shopping? Don't leave yet! They have a little "museum" collection of theirs that you can see for a tiny fee. Getting into it is quite fun, as they give you a key to unlock the doors to the museum - which are also the doors to a TARDIS. They take your picture as you open the doors, too! Once you're in, the props and costumes collected by the family that owns the shop are a delight to explore if you're a Whovian. And the staff are WONDERFUL to talk to - my mother and I struck up several conversations while we browsed, and I picked up several recommended classic Who titles to watch (always helpful seeing as there's so many). I truly had a blast shopping and exploring here. Whovians, please do keep this shop in mind if you're in the London area. They work hard to keep this little place open for fans, and they deserve our support - so go ahead, take the time to venture to their location and start shopping!
