This was my first time buying a cake from Clementine Bakery. The customer service was great, they accommodated my pickup change time without any problems and answered my emails fast. The price was good compared to other vegan bakeries. 6 inch Cookies & Cream Chocolate cake came out to $49. Second time coming here. Both times the employees were rude and quite aloof. Was odd when I literally just saw them chatting it up with a couple of other individuals right before me? Talking about the red-head AND the light blonde short haired individual. Anyway, got the donut for a second time and it has a unique texture to it. Not bad, but not great. The chocolate croissant also has a doughy and unbaked texture to it. I approached the staff as kindly and low-key as possible saying that I felt it was underbaked. Was told that this was the normal texture of vegan croissants. Good reminder not to ever get this again. I mean I could literally mush the dough back together and reshape it as if it was still raw dough! There is seating outside and seemed like there is decent space, so there's that. Probably the best vegan pastries that I've ever had. The cream in the pistachio croissant is wayy to sweet for me, so I probably won't have it again, but the outer part of the croissant was amazing, flaky and perfect. I also had a slice of plum cake, which was delicious. The coffee was good as well. My friend had the cauliflower buffalo wings, I had one and LOVED them, will definitely be ordering some in the future. Really great food overall. There is no indoor seating. Inside, they have a fruit stand and some shelves with plants and other things for sale. There is plenty of outdoor seating. The staff was pleasant. Masks are required inside. Prices were normal for this kind of food ($5.50 for the croissant, $7 for a small batch of buffalo wings). What I really like is that they give you a discount if you bring your own cup for your coffee. It would be great if they used compostable plastic for their iced drinks though! Cute quaint neighborhood spot that has a plethora or pastries and treats. Some seem to be vegan/veggie friendly as well! Came here just before 10am and not all of the pastries had arrived yet (seems they do not bake them on sight?) so that was a bit disappointing and literally as we paid we saw them come in. Nonetheless the place was starting to pop off early! I even saw folks setting up shop to start working at the outdoor tables with laptops! I got a oatmilk latte which was great and a pasty that had sweet potato, broccoli and other veggies with cheese. I took it home and warmed it up, it was pretty good! Interesting mix for breakfast. Pretty good vegan bakery in Brooklyn! There was a line outside at 4:30pm as they only allow 5 people in at a time. The line moved fairly quick. So many options it was tough to choose and given the long line, there wasn't much time to dwell on what to get. The green tea was basic... just a bag in hot water, but nothing special in taste. The lemon lavender cupcake was nice & moist and flavors paired well together. I was most excited to have a rice crispy treat! Haven't had vegan ones in forever! i am not sold on this place. i live very close but their food just doesn't cut it for me. i always want to love the cupcakes but they are just too dense and heavy. i've also tried most of their baked goods, coffee drinks, some bowls and none of it is that impressive. i've definitely had much better vegan bowls in the past. hot tip - they participate in Too Good To Go (app that minimizes food waste) so you can get a box of baked goods at the end of the day for cheap. read more

Let's start this off by saying I'm not a vegan, never tried to be one, don't ever plan to be one. I needed a spot to get some work done and this place is always packed. So after walking by it for a couple of months i decided to pop in. Thé café is so inviting on the inside, but there is no indoor seating that i could tell. They have plants for sale and whole bunch of other bits and bobs. I got the chai latte, spéculos (cookie butter) donut and a croissant. The chai latte was okay, wasn't my favorite but wasn't anything to complain about. The donut was good, i had no expectations and the really captured the cookie butter taste. The croissant i went in skeptical but was pleasantly surprised. It's doesn't have that flakiness that comes from the layers of butter in a traditional croissant but i could see this being great for a sandwich and not noticing the difference. read more

The food and coffee is acceptable nothing to write home about. They are very conveniently located hence I would go there to grab a latte or a pastry. It's the last time I was there that resulted in this poor review My friend and I were enjoying a sunny summer morning both of us were wearing WHITE COTTON dresses when we walked in to get a cold.coffee and a scone. The girls serving us were obviously amateurs in the hospitality business and were totally frazzled by the line of customers. One of the barista who was preparing my iced mocha spilled the entire drink and splashed both my friend and I. While we did not make any fuss or demand to see the manager - the employees made no effort to help clean our dresses or offered to pay for our dry cleaning. My friend said they could have at least offered to comp our bill I am NOT asking or seeking any compensation NOW. I know it was an accident but they should have at least offered something at the time. It has put me off the place totally and I have moved my business to THE CHOICE MARKET on GRAND Avenue one block away. Vegan sandwiches and pastries are hard to come by and these are absolutely incredible, in most cases you would not know they are vegan unless you were told. Just moved out of Brooklyn and already miss this place! Clementine is awesome! They offer a great variety of vegan foods on their regular menu but also liven things up with seasonal and daily special offerings. One of my favorites is their fried chik'n sandwich, probably the best plant based cutlets I've ever had paired perfectly with pickles and spicy cabbage on a pretzel bun. Their baked goods are my favorite, I'm a vegetarian so not vegan and their baked goods are among my fave across the board. The cake slices are massive by the way so order on an empty stomach or be prepared to share! The cupcakes are great too and they offer interesting flavors from ginger lemon to lavender blueberry. We looked for a place to bake a vegan bday cake for a 2yo who loves trucks - especially a backhoe. We contacted many bakeries in NYC and many of them didn't respond and if they did they didn't offer 3D backhoe fondant. Clementine bakery responded fast, I talked with Tiffany over the emails, she had some great ideas and in the end we decided for 6" chocolate raspberry cake with chocolate frosting and edible 3D fondant backhoe. We got cake delivered and it arrived in perfect shape. Last night was a success and baby boy was very happy. Cake was delicious, non vegan friends couldn't believe that it is actually vegan cake. Recently moved to living just a few blocks from Clementine Bakery, and couldn't have a better go-to, down-the-block cafe. On the weekends the line is consistently long, but they do a very good job with social distancing and only allowing a few customers inside the store at a time. I have yet to be disappointed by a baked good from Clementine -- their loaves are wonderfully moist and have very interesting flavors, and their bread is unbelievably good. My favorite offering from Clementine, that flies a bit under-the-radar, is their vegan soft serve. I had the peanut butter flavor, and it was incredibly creamy and not overly sweet, which can sometimes be the case with dairy free ice-creams. On some mornings they offer day-old pastries for half off, which is an absolute steal (especially for slices of their sweet loaves, which remain super moist -- they might even be better the second day around!?). I really wanted to like this bakery after stopping in for some baked goods and coffee. I got a cold brew which was watery and bitter, not sure how it could be both. I got a couple of day old's - some type of muffin and maybe a snickerdoodle? The barista had no idea what they were, which didn't bother me but could be problematic for anyone with allergies. At first bite, the muffin just seemed dry and lacking flavor. Then, as I continued, I realized that it was SO spoiled. Like really, really foul smell. I had to throw it out and pray I didn't get sick. They should not be selling day old's if they spoil this quickly! But also, who knows if it had only been a day or if it had been longer. The cookie was just ok, very very crumbly as others have mentioned. Ended up eating half and tossing that too. My bf got a drip and vanilla cupcake; the cupcake was the item that redeemed this place a bit. Clinton Hill is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Brooklyn for its green foliage, many pup residents and its hidden foodie spots. My vegan friend told me awhile back that if I liked Red Lantern Bicycles I have to try Clementine Bakery. It's a quick little bus ride from my Detroit like home of Bushwick. I arrive this particular weekend with tons of punks covering the front patio seating. There's a punk festival this weekend and veganism is a popular life style choice. I decide on the B.L.A.T. Sandwich, an iced coffee with room and a pb blondie. The sandwich is a nice, flavorful later of tempeh bacon, vegenaise, crispy lettuce, juicy tomatoes and avocado (my favorite). The bread is perfectly toasted. This sandwich has become my most recent obsession. I have returned for said sandwich and I can smell another one in my near future....maybe tomorrow. My older brother refuses to venture to vegan places with me. He says there is nothing for him to eat. But when I met up with him later he couldn't stop eating the pb blondie. I swear you would never be able to tell there was NO BUTTER in this beautiful baked good. This place is seriously incredible. A Yelpers job is tough when you want to keep a place all to yourself but it's all about the sharing and helping those small businesses we love. Why it took me two years to discover that there's an amazing vegan bakery three blocks from me is beyond me. It's a warm and welcoming spot on a corner street in the heart of Clinton Hill. For being a Sunday morning, I was taken back by the amount of people waiting in line for their tofu and vegan banana nut muffins. But then again, I'm not surprised. This is one of the best vegan food places in the area, if not, the only vegan places. My friend went ahead and ordered the biscuits and gravy as I continued to struggle with deciding. They have a pretty extensive menu, especially when it's all vegan. I was impressed, but I wish there were more breakfast like items. A vegan lavender loaf caught my eye. I couldn't resist a baked good to start my day. I also ordered a matcha green tea latte with, of course, oat milk. The atmosphere is so clean and inviting that my friend and I ended up staying for a few hours. I loved the plants on white brick. It made me feel like I needed to invest in more plants for my own apartment. The vegan loaf was...well amazing. It really made you think, "is this really vegan?" I love when vegan places/items make you do that. The matcha was equally amazing, and was able to try my friend's biscuit and gravy, which really hit the spot. I also tried the cauliflower poboy sandwich and fries, which my partner had. Could've done with slightly lighter bread and crispier cauliflower for more authenticity, but the flavor was nice. They only allow 5 people inside for ordering, which feels very safe. The staff are nice, and I waited about 15 minutes for the food. Prices are pretty good. Best vegan cafe in all of NYC. They are SO NICE, great service. I come here all the time. Usually for sandwiches - the BLAT and the Schmancy are the usual picks but I've probably had everything at least once. But if you go in and don't come out with at least one pastry (sweet or savory) or cupcake, you've made a mistake. Always get a pastry!!! They also have lots of GF options and a separate GF case for baked goods. Now with covid, there's no indoor seating, instead they've turned the inside into a small grocery with great produce and other kitchen staples. This is a very average bakery with an inflated reputation. Very cute little hipster bakery, the staff were sweet. I ordered a couple things which included a cream cheese brownie ( which I was charged and paid for) it wasn't put into my bag. Only noticed once I got home. We ordered a coffee cake, lemon poppy seed cupcake, chocolate croissant, lemon and raspberry cake. The only thing I could say was worth the trip across town was the lemon raspberry cake. Everything else was really really dry and underwhelming. I hate to knock any vegan establishment ( because the more options the better) however I did have high hopes for this little bakery.
