I went to two optical centers in Sturgeon Bay, in both cases, the staff was not able to fix them and were rude because I was a visitor and not one of their customers. Then along came Peninsula Vision Care-their staff is FANTASTIC. They fixed my glasses and they stayed fixed for the remainder of my vacation. Their was no charge and they expressed concern about my glasses, ability to see while traveling and making sure that my vacation would be able to continue. Peninsula Vision Care should be your first stop for eye care and new lenses. They are the best.

First time I've ever written a review because nothing like that has ever happened to me. Update, I had to go back because my prescription was incorrect. Not a huge deal, it happens, but doctor Meurer was super unprofessional about me coming back (probably because I wrote this review) scoffed at me when I told him the trials weren't correct, told me "Just to be clear, you asked for these" (the contacts) and was rude to the point that I told him to just copy my prescription from my last visit at Pearle. I then had to go back no joke five times because they kept copying the prescription wrong. Now I'm out $100 and I have the same prescription as my old one because doctor Meurer made me so uncomfortable. Truly an awful experience start to finish. Would recommend Pearle in Bellevue or literally any other eye place. Never had an experience like this in my life.

They have a good selection at the store to choose from as far as eye glasses. All the staff have been pleasant and helpful, which is appreciated. I honestly wouldn't recommend Modern Eyes to anyone after what happened. I asked them before…read morebooking if they took United Healthcare, gave them my plan info and everything, and they said yes. They looked it up and confirmed it. So I booked the appointment and went in, thinking everything was fine. Six months later, I get a $145 bill because apparently they don't take United Healthcare Vision... just the medical side. That was never explained to me, and they still took my insurance info and scheduled me like it was all covered. When I called to talk about it, the person on the phone literally said it's not their responsibility to know what people's plans cover. That just blew my mind. They took zero accountability and made it seem like it was all on me, even though I did everything I could to check in advance. It just feels really dishonest, and I'm super frustrated that I had to pay for something I was told was covered. Definitely not going back.
