If you're traveling for three weeks and a have a lot of laundry, at least in Zürich this is the place to go depending on your location. For me it was a three stop tram ride from our hotel also easily walkable. The laundromat is clean, seems to be well-maintained and has washing machines of various capacities and dryers all in good repair. There is a detergent machine on the premises however there is a Coop store right around the corner where you can purchase additional detergent or whatever you need. it's not cheap to do your laundry here. I have posted the pricing. Unless you ate inclined to wash your clothes in your hotel sink and then good luck trying to get them dry, you don't have too many, if any, alternatives. The cost for us to use three of the smaller sized washing machines And two dryers was basically 50 francs. Ouch. There's a table for folding your clothes and about six or seven chairs. A café is around the corner on the Main Street next-door to Coop to have a snack while you're doing your wash. This is a coin operated laundry. There is a change machine that accepts Swiss Franc bills and dispenses coins for the machines. If you don't have Swiss franc bills, there is an ATM machine facing the sidewalk in a building to the right of the coop store entrance.

This one has good opening hours 7am-10pm (7 days a week at posting), located in neighborhoods area with Tram Stops in front. Line 9 & 10. Usage is pretty straightforward. They even have English Panel Information. They have detergent 1 CHF, softener 0.50 CHF. They have Coin machine changes. Reminder: they only accept Swiss Franc!! We have to go to grocery store nearby, wait till they open, to exchange our Euro to CHF. I used the facilities on Jan 2 and the cleaning lady just cleaned them during opening. So the place is spanking clean. Have laundry basket and fold table. Explained everything to our local friends on how to use. We brought Tide Pod and she even gave suggestion on usage and drying time. Heard about vandals in the past. Hope they keep it safe. The only downside is how EXPENSIVE it is to do self laundry in Zurich, Swiss. Other European countries are cheaper.

I brought my own Tide pods from home (California) so I don't have experience using the detergent dispenser. The washing machines (I used two) were efficient and same with the dryer. Depending on the temperature you choose, it will take 25-50 minutes to complete a wash cycle. The dryers were great too. My small load of clothes was dry in 20 minutes Each wash in a 6KG (smallest) machine cost about $8 Swiss francs. Again, ultimate cost depends on the temperature you choose. Dryer is 3 Swiss francs for 10 minutes. I went by myself and felt safe. It's Switzerland after all. Tram to get here was super easy also. We stayed at the Widder Hotel and it took me about 20 minutes door to door. Hope this helps someone out there! We had a 4-year old on a long trip through Europe so we had to do laundry without paying hundreds of dollars.

The couple who run the shop is always very welcoming. Their prices are very good and they always did a great job (I've been there many times already). They really care about their client and their job. For example they did for me some small quick fixes on a jacket (move buttons) and on pants (shortened them again even if I had given them the wrong length) and this free of charge. Every time I brought them "work" it was done in time, like promessed. They also offer a dry cleaning service. I have never tried it but if it's like the tailoring part, I guess they do a good job as well. This small shop is located right next to the tram stop Zypressenstrasse on Badenerstrasse (Tram 2 and 3).

So to make my clothes happy, I send them off to CleaningStore. You may be entitled to get yourself a "Kundenkarte" card from the store in order to receive a 10% off your dry cleaning bill, if your company particpates in this discount. If you are not sure ask if they honor a corporate discount from your company. The savings really rack up over time! This place also runs discounts time to time on certain types of clothing. Sometimes they will run a special on cleaning for skirts, blouses, men's shirts, etc. The service is okay, there is a wait of a few days to get your clothes back, which is faster than some other stores I've been to which also noticeably costs more. In addition, they also offer an express dry cleaning service (1 day!), very competitively priced. I have never had problems with this location, the female associates are always fast and hardworking. For dry cleaning requiring special care, for example my nice jacket with special buttons (buttons which could be harmed by during the dry cleaning process), you should bring them to a special dry cleaner store. They are much more expensive but will take the due care to specially cover buttons and other accessories on your outfits that may be harmed during the dry cleaning process. A plus - they open on Saturdays until 12:30pm! Avoid coming in last minute right before 12:30pm because this is when the queue gets long and the poor associate gets a bit stressed out. Don't ask me how I know... ;-) Come with CASH ONLY! They don't accept any other form of payment.

I say hello and am being polite. He barely says hello and has a bad attitude. I don't have cash (**cash only), and I tell him I'll come back tomorrow with cash. He grunts something and is super annoyed. I say good bye and no reply. I know he can respond because a German speaking person walks in and he's saying all sorts of hellos and goodbyes to him. Why is he rude with me? I don't want to deal with his attitude the next day so I go to an ATM and get cash so I can get this over with. I go back in and he looks at me and literally starts shaking his head annoyed. He gets my trousers and I ask him in German, why are you so rude? He's obviously surprised I asked him that. I don't take rude...why when I'm trying to be nice and I'm the customer? Suddenly he's so nice and says he has a lot of stress. He says he needs to finish.
