It is so beautiful and I could easily see myself living here. Gnadenhutten is Ohio's oldest existing settlement and is located on Tuscarawas River in Tuscarawas county. It was founded in October 1772. Gnadenhutten means "Huts of Grace" I was able to meet the Mayor of Gnadenhutten, John Heil. He is a man that wears many hats, Mayor of Gnadenhutten and he also runs the Gnadenhutten Historical Park and Museum, sounds like he has a lot more going on besides those two major jobs. If you have a chance to read my review on the historical park, it gives you the history of Gnadenhutten. Gnadenhutten is in the Indian Valley School District, it only has the High School there. The elementary and middle are in the surrounding towns, still considered Indian Valley. It has a dollar store, little gas station and a couple little restaurants. They do have a little library and a few Mom and Pop stores. As I was driving through this village I noticed that the residents take great pride in their homes.
