I don't think I have left a review on Yelp before. If I have, it has been too long to remember. I…read moresee there are a lot of great reviews on here so it could have just been my experience. I was asked to show up 15 minutes early for a new patient appointment. I showed up 20 minutes early and filled out paperwork promptly. I watched two people walk in after me, I would say a minimum of 20 minutes after. It could have been longer, I don't want to exaggerate, but I know it was at least that because they were certainly both after my appointment's start time. One with an appointment and one walk-in that needed something done quickly. I understand the walk-in was quick, but I was still placed behind them even though I had an appointment. She just strolled in and was taken care of almost immediately. I am not sure exactly why the other person with an appointment was taken back earlier. I was just told that she liked to spend more time with new patients, which I can appreciate, but within reason. After waiting 51 minutes, I was taken back and told my blood pressure was too high to be treated. I get that may be true, but most people's blood pressure increases as they wait longer and longer. I wouldn't want her to treat me if I'm not ready, but a simple acknowledgment would have sufficed. If that was going to decide whether I could be treated, it would have been nice and seems possible they could have done this when I got there. The office manager was incredibly nice and I enjoyed my experience with her. I will never go back and I will recommend people not to go here. I took time off from work to go to this. I showed up early in order for her to treat me as a new patient, but I was penalized for her earlier delays in the day. Once again, no one's fault for delays, but felt like the person that got there for their appointment well ahead might have been seen first. She may be a great acupuncturist, I cannot attest to that, but the experience was so bad it wouldn't be worth it. The office manager was incredibly nice and I enjoyed my experience with her.

Dr. Eisenman is our primary care physician since 2014 and I take my kids here before I take them to…read morea pediatrician. I have been treated with acupuncture since I was 14 (so for 26 years) and I've lived in multiple countries and had several different holistic doctors over the years. (As well as traditional ones.) I have a M.Sc. and a PhD and I'm one of those moms that is very thorough when it comes to anything related to my health or that of my family. Irrespective of curricula and experience, a Traditional Chinese Doctor may or may not have the gift of feeling the points and understanding your body in a holistic way. That's a talent one is born with and Dr. D. Eisenman at Holistic Primary Care certainly has that gift. He is extremely knowledgeable as well, and his expertise and knowledge never cease to amaze me -- from every little muscle in your body to physiological and infectious processes, you name it, he is very studied and solid. He combines Thai massage trigger points with Chinese medicine and many other techniques. But going beyond that he has the ability to combine variables and understand what is going on in holistic way. I call him our miracle maker. He can fix whatever problem you have, even when you (or your traditional doctor) do not know what it is. He treats me since I moved to Miami -- for a boost in my defenses, for migraine, for back pain, for the flu every other Dr told you you'll have to be in bed for a week, for exhaustion after a business trip marathon, for thyroid issues, and I could go on and on. He also treats both my kids (8 and 12) and got my son's recurring lung infections to stop and helped my daughter get rid of a calcium deposit (Sever's disease) so that she could do sports again. Without antibiotics. Without albuterol for Asthma. Without cortisone or steroids. Several of my family members were treated here: for high blood pressure, to minimize the effects of Hashimoto's, for their lower back pain due to a damaged disc. Some of them are the type of person that would never go to a holistic doctor, and yet, they felt so much better that they kept going. There's so much I'm thankful for, that I have been delaying writing this review for two years to make sure I do not forget anything. But this is still only a 10% of the issues he has solved for us over the years. He is the best kept secret in Miami Beach. If you think that there is something better to be done about your health and that you deserve more than an Rx prescription mitigating symptoms instead of fixing the cause of whatever is ailing you, you should make an appointment.

But I booked this appointment because their website services list naturopathy, and specifically under those services detail the process of diagnostics - and that's not what I encountered today. In her words, "if you're one of those people who wants to waste time with bloodwork and things like that then we can..." I am one of those people, and I really appreciate understanding the "why" behind my treatment at the very least. But I got a lot of vague answers (why are you giving me these supplements? "Well I'm just giving you what's in my brain," and heard probably 5 times today "it's FDA approved", as if that explains anything), and so I spent $280 to learn this isn't the place for me, when I never would've booked at all if they didn't advertise services they don't believe in.
