I have mixed emotions about this place.
Handy location and parking out front on the street.
They did take me as a walk-in.
So, I'm not from Chatham. I live in Toronto and have been to many of the nail salons there. This one is quite different.
They asked me to wash my hands thoroughly beforehand, which is unusual but okay.
They had me soak my fingertips which is what I'm used to but did not add anything to the water.
Also, do not expect a hand massage, or hand cream or hot towel after all the cutting, filing, massaging etc that you get at nearly every other nail salon I've been too.
She did pay a lot of attention to my cuticles, but made them bleed on 3 hands (went way too deep candidly). Ouch!
Also seemed expensive for a standard (ie not gel) manicure considering what I got. It was $25 before tip. AND the nail polish was significantly chipping after 3 days!! (I'm not talking about tips. I mean at least a third of it came off!)
They seemed to have a lot of local customers.
Be prepared for a never ending slew of personal questions too.
Don't think I will be back. Maybe the locals experience is different. read more
